No .. no we don’t . Especially not to gamble on whether or not Murray will bounce back . Try the Red Wings . They may give him a shot for two years since winning isn’t their highest priority right now. Probably will not get much in return for the cap space . |

Go for Puljujärvi and Domi let's do it. Then take care of the anchor that could anchor 10 Titanic's in any fashion, I don't care how it goes down just cut that (frank)ing chain and leave that female dog at the bottom of the ocean. |

Edmonton has too much tied up in goal for this to work. What may work is trading Murr to a team that makes more sense and flipping the assets back over to Edmonton for Jesse Pul(Fin name). Targeting a high upside right shot who’s value is down like this is exactly what we need to be doing. Unload our assets on Max Domi and then hope a guy like JP can pan out. |

Rask just opted out of the bubble. Can we emergency trade Murray there? |

Puljujärvi is an RFA due a new deal. I think his lack of NHL success will keep his number down. .. - Ryan_Wilson
From what I read, that's been the issue. No proven success but wants a high raise and guaranteed NHL minutes.
Not a bad gamble though, if they want to move on. |

I don’t have a great read on it. By the numbers and due to intangibles, Domi strikes me as the kind of player that would be overvalued by the league, but Montreal’s usage of him this year suggests they don’t rate him that highly. Regardless, I think the 15th will have to be involved, the question is how much more? Does 15 and McCann get it done? Do we throw in Hallander in there?
As an aside, I think Domi’s the type of guy that would work real well with Hornqvist on his wing. For Hornqvist to work for us moving forward he can’t be in the top 6 so having a center on 3rd line that can maximize him is really enticing. |

Trading Sid would never happen. Players like him usually stay with the franchise til the end....
But, what would Malkin and Sid fetch? Kick start a rebuild. Probably the best thing to do at this point. But again, doubt it happens.
Also, good idea to keep the 1st this year and give Minni next years. Who knows what that draft will look like at this point. |

You can take that deal and shove it.......onto an e-document with Holland's and Rutherford's signatures on it. I'd take that deal both ways, if ya know what I'm sayin |

Not the worst idea. - Rinosaur
Half the board has suggest it already, so I see this as something with broad approval. As Vic says later, thia is the type of RH, RW to fill out the top 6 to make sense to by low on. |

As a Red Wings fan I thought about this too. Wings have a interesting RFA of there own who they could move to the Pens in Madison Bowey.
Wimgs would clear a spot for Seider and get a Goalie to pair with Bernier for a couple years.
Pens fans will, and should, want more but I'm not sure they are gonna get it with the volume of solid options on the UFA market. |

Yeah, it's a tough read. I think the first, McCann AND Hallander is a lot. I'd at least attempt to package the 1st + Bjugstad and see if JR can pull that off. |

You could probably start a rebuild and keep Sid as a top 6 center and captain. Pens won't trade Malkin, or Sid, unless they want out. Sid in particular seema the type that would want his whole career on one team and it's not like he needs to leave to win his first Cup. |

The Pens will probably go with their in-house candidate in Ruhwedel for the open RHD slot. I agree they won't be getting much, but unless they're higher on Bowey than I am, he doesn't really fill a need. |

Habs wouldn't really need Bjugstad since the only reason they're considering moving Domi is they have 3 other good centers and he doesn't want to play wing. I think the team that takes a chance on Bjugstad needs a C and has a little cap space (that part is Montreal). |

It might be heresy to suggest breaking up the Blueger line, but can you imagine this 3rd line?:
Tanev - Domi - Horny
Call it the "havoc line" or something.
I don't know where McCann goes - maybe he's included in the deal as you suggest. 4th line would be ZAR - Blueger - Simon. They won't score but that's a good defensive line. |

On face value I like the idea as both player seem to have a similar level of risk and value in overall upside (top 6 W, starting G). But as someone pointed out the logistics of this doesn’t work too well for Edmonton. Unless they move koskinnen it would be better to spend the cap space they do have to improve the team in front of him rather than wrap up 8+ million in net. |

If Domi was traded it would be for a left shot puck moving d-man that we need nothing else. With the play of the top 3 and the emergence of Kulak I don’t see that happening (and Romanov potential as solid two way player). So if ( BIG IF ) he gets traded it will be for picks and prospects, which leaves a trade with Pittsburgh unlikely. |

You guys need Pettersson, then. You have too many picks already. |

The Oilers should be focused on upgrading the forward depth above anything else. You don't consistently win with a sub-40% goal share bottom-6. Spending the cap on another goalie- especially one whose numbers don't scream guaranteed starter- doesn't do that. |

As an Oilers and Red Wings fan, this is the guy you'd need to trade to Oilers for JP, both players need a new start. Koskinen is signed for another year at $4.5 mill and Holland needs to shore up forward and D while trying to get rid of Neal and Russell contracts to free up cap space so there's no cap room for Murray. Oilers need a big steady 3C. Red Wings need a goalie to team with Bernier while they reload.
Maybe there's a bigger trade to be made including bad contracts and prospects/picks and/or depth players to make it fair and the cap work that centers around Bjugstad and Puljujarvi. |
