Roussel last night was the highlight of the night.
I think once the team goes chasing to play the retaliation game it is already too late. Why they are not instigating like the top teams do makes me think of the boy scout or good guy image. I loved they ran Allen last night but maybe a little harder and more regularly.

Except MacEwan got a penalty for doing so, while Markstrom got bowled over with no call.

The whining about reffing is a bit much ( not directed at you personally). It's seems every second or third post is someone complaining about the reffing. Good teams get past that (if it's actually true). The Canucks are facing a superior team and getting out-played. Fact. Green needs to adjust the lines to adapt to the Blues waking up and playing playoff hockey. I agree with the other posters that the young guys are looking tired & worn and that the bottom six are pretty bad. Those horrible contracts are coming back to bite them in the butt. Eriksson and Beagle need to be benched.
Thanks Carol. Yes Myers is missed though 5v5 Canucks drew even. With 14 miniutes to go in the game the Canucks #1 PP had 3 more chances to score at 3-1. They even failed to generate pressure on those PPs,
Not changing what they were doing in game cost them. That was the difference. Some of us noticed this after the first couple PP and suggested a different set up. But the Canucks stuck to what worked for them in the past and the Blues shut them out.
For all the talk on Blues wearing down the Canucks their 5v5 play they held their own but lost the special teams battle.

I agree. I find myself bothered by individual calls but there's no way you could look back at these last 2 games and say officiating was the difference maker.
Blues keep getting better and better, Canucks only have so many gears they can shift to, no shame in being outclassed by a team with way more experience and superior depth.
Canucks gotta do something. But I'll be damned to be a "happy to have been nominated" crew. The first two games they had swagger. I have been saying OJ, but anything....Play Raff, Gravoc SOMETHING !

Going 0 for 7 on PP and Blues scoring 2 on the PP(5-3 own goal) is why Canucks lost.

If Bo Petey JTM Marky and Hughes play their best next game I like our chances.

thats what i see too. through the first 2 games you could see that stlouis was just not playing their best and for us it was a good thing. now theyve stepped it up a level and canucks just look burnt out. id love to see the studs pull off another gear but i just think at this point they are running on fumes

Yet they didn't lose on 5v5 play the goals were even. It was special teams that did them in. That's not a depth factor its an execution and adjustment to in game strategy failure.

Dude has ice in his veins, can't wait to see him in a few years when he's got a little more swagger
