Ben Shelley: Reviewing the season: Antti Suomela

Antti is in the same boat that Ryan Carpenter was in when he was here. He showed that he has the skills to play in the NHL but he found his way to DeBoer's doghouse and was soon relegated to the AHL, whereas Carpenter was placed on waivers where Vegas snapped him up. He is a serviceable bottom six forward who should be able to improve his scoring but he needs better efforts around him to be able to succeed. Notice how well Goodrow is playing now with Tampa playing with Coleman and Gourde...Suomella isn't quite that good but an improvement in teammates would translate to better results..
