I defended Lou offering Robin the 2 year deal. I thought Robin should have taken the deal. I'm a little surprised Robin has kept up the good play away from Barry and his system. Robin could have helped for sure but if Eberle and Beau continue to not be able to score, Robin and any other goalie can only do so much.

He said he loved the Island, loved the fans and wanted to be here. Lou offered him a deal and put Lou on hold. Not gonna say I wouldn’t have liked Lehner but he didn’t take the deal.
Also The Hawks traded him at the deadline because I guess he wouldn’t sign with them either. He may get to play for every team in the NHL if he keeps these negotiation tactics up

Two years was more than fair. Robin did not have a bunch of good seasons before the Isles. Robin with the Isles seemed to be a very good fit and I figured he would want to make it work with the Isles. I'll never defend Lou on giving 4 years for Leo and Hickey but I'm going to be consistent and defend Lou on Robin.

When you factor in that the summer before we ended up not getting a few things we were working on as the goalies we wanted signed away or their team would not trade them.. which is how we ended up grabbing Lehner off the scrap heap to begin with it makes even more sense.

they offered him a 2 year deal for what he made this year. He turned it down b/c he thought he could do better and then was shocked they signed someone else. It stinks for sure but that is on his agent.
