They're not going to trade Walker before he plays a single game on his extension. It would ruin future negotiations with RFAs. What motivation would they have to take team-friendly deals if it just makes them attractive trade options?
I could see something like this happening though.
Roy + Lizotte + #50OA
for
Kerfoot + #15OA |

i was kidding mostly
your deal way to much to give up for Roy
Roy + 50OA for Kerfoot to start - he's a very quality 3C or winger if needed
Leafs don't really want to part with him - just might be ok to
let the player go because of the salary hit....3.5 AAV
Leafs aren't trading the 15OA for yuor proposal but thanks for engaging man |

Kerfoot was just a throw in to clear space for the Leafs. The Kings don't have a need for him. Lizotte is just as quality for significantly less money/cap hit.
I would simplify the trade to Roy + #50OA for #15OA. The Kings don't have any desire to move Roy and only would if the 1st or one of Mikheyev/Hyman were coming back. I'm not saying that's a even or fair swap, but the only pieces that would entice the Kings to trade Roy. |

Kings aren't trading out of the top 3, nor are they taking on a third $10M+ contract or decimating the right side of their defense. |

Pass..LA does not need the ego's of Marner, Nylander nor Tavares....
Dubas screwed the leafs over with those deals...i dont see the Kings helping him out of that situation

The Kings can't really unload any more salary. They're in danger of not making the cap floor. |

I can't fathom a scenario where the Kings trade the #2OA for anybody. I could see them trading 1 or 2 of their 3 2nd round picks if a young Dman either in the 1st round or top prospect emerges as available. |

You wish you has them on the Kings -Stafanoooo
Kings are farther away than you think - wingers, goalies etc.
You have some nice young def. & some promising Centers...I'll give
you that but relax on your wordsmith pal. |

You can't directly compare point totals from the Leafs to the Kings. Toronto scored an additional 60 goals this season. All of their players should have more points. Lizotte just performed better than any Kings 3C in the last decade, and that includes their Cup winning teams.
I'm sure if the Kings abandoned all semblances of team defense, then their 3rd liners would score as much as the Leafs players did too. They'd also finish in the league basement in GA/GP, right next to the Leafs. |

I agree that the Kings need winger pipeline needs some work, but what's wrong with the Kings goalies? I'd take their tandem over 20ish other teams in the NHL, Toronto included. |

I want LA to offer sheet Sergachev . His age fits perfect. And would force Tampa into a hard pickle. |

Kings shouldn't be giving offer sheets. They'd have to give up their 1st round pick next year and that pick will likely be a top 5 pick again.
If the Kings want Sergachev, Blake should pick up the phone and make BriseBois an offer. |

they could put in a offer that wont require a 1st and force tampa to make moves. and i think that is a safe route. esp for a guy whos age fits perfect with LA. Dennis Bernstein made the joke about it. But if you think about it. It wouldnt hurt to do it. esp because he would be better than most of our prospects would fit with age and development going forward for when they should be competing again. |

The limit for a contract that doesn't return a 1st is 5 years at $4.36M. If the Kings offered that and Sergachev for some crazy reason decided to accept it, Tampa would match immediately and thank the Kings for making it so easy for them.
Realistically, there's no offer that Sergachev would accept that didn't return a 1st round pick. |

Blake needs to pick up the phone and call to make a deal. I'm sure he can be had without giving up a 1st if the Kings are willing to part with a quality forward prospect and a mid-pairing LHD like Anderson. The idea is to give up a known quantity instead of what could end up being the lottery winning pick.
Then the Kings can negotiate a new contract with Sergachev without worrying about trying to outbid what Tampa would be willing to match. |

the Kings are about 3 years away from making some noise...
As for wishing those players on my team, I really don't like players who hold out thinking that deserve waaaaay more than what they have earned. In fact if I was Dubas, i would have made Nylander hold out the entire season. But that is just my opinion, and I am probably in the minority. |
