Three great options but the right goaltender was picked. Helle got ripped off two years ago when Renne won the award. His advanced stats playing on a team without 6 nhl caliber defense were incredible. Jets have Morrissey and Pionk to help him out. well done Helle |

Good. Helle deserves this, and arguably the Hart as well.
The fact that anyone voting had a goaltender other than Hellebuyck in 1st is why we ignore awards voting 95% of the time |

Great and deserved win for Helly. The jets have the top goalie, 5 great forwards, 3 good bottom 6 players and 3 solid d-men. The Jets just need a big, play making #2 center and two big, physical stay at home d-men and this team will be a top 5 team again. I just hope that they don't sign and play 6/7 d-men and 5th line forwards that they have done the last couple of seasons just because they are good in the room. |

Best part for me, is that the Leafs have not won the Vezina since 1964-65. |

According to Maurice, we need Bitteto because he is funny. I am hoping that Bitteto does come back, so that I can ask Rumors to get him on the ticket.
Laughter is great medicine.
If they don't bring back Bitteto, they should bring in support animals. My friend says they are great at helping people cope through challenging times. Furthermore support animals would be great in the room! |

*whispers* I actually wouldn’t mind Bitetto as the 7 or 8. He seems delightful, and had his best year last year. As a 10 game fill in, he’s fine |

yay or nay? only for click bait and because people love to jam trades lol
10th OA to OTT for 28th OA and Logan Brown
10th OA & Roslovic to Mon for Domi and 16th OA
Laine & Niku to NJ for 7th and 20th OA, Zacha and Sverson
Laine to Carolina for Pesce, 13th OA and Ryan Suzuki ( we might also have to take Reimer for cap relief for Carolina )
Stanley for a 2nd rounder to anyone!! |

Always interesting to read what others are thinking.
Nothing really jumps out at me, but all are possibilities. Not sure what to think about Pavel Zacha other than he was highly regarded a short time ago.
Maybe of all the scenarios listed above my favorite one would be the Zacha one though. Like to think we can get more for Laine, but who knows? Maybe with the 7th and 20th pick we could trade up to 4th (Detroit's pick) and get that young #2C (Perfetti?) or RH d-man?

I think one of Rossi or Perfetti will be there at 7. Lundell would be for sure. I would not be trading up, id take the 2 best players at 7 and 10, and bank that at least one possibly both are centers?? |

Players always seem to fall for whatever reason at the draft, some reasons we can understand, some we don't.
I'm wondering if Rossi might be that player this year? Therefore that would be good, keep the acquired pick. Can see it being: (1-8) Lafrennieire, Sutzle, Byfield, Perfetti, Drysdale, Raymond, Sanderson, and J. Quinn. Then does Minny take the goalie Askarov or Rossi?
Now if Minny takes the goalie, Rossi would be there for us. If not, would take the Swedish RW Holtz. For whatever reason, not a Lundell fan even though we need a C (thus far).
But like you say, Rossi or Perfetti should be there at #7
The Brandon RH d-man Schneider would be a good pick if we have a later pick as well.
Just my guesses! |

my horse is Sanderson at #10 if available. mobile LD with good enough size, development with USA program, knows how to be a pro.

I don't see the need unless you are absolutely convinced he is a legit all star top pairing D.
I really like
Morrisey
Heinola
Samberg
as our left side D for the next 5-8 years!!
I think you bring a veteran left handed D on a one year deal this year for insurance but we also have
Gawanke
Niku
Stanley
as left handed depth as well in the system.
my point is left shot D is probably our deepest position in the entire organization. |

I see your point about prospects on LHD, that would bump Sandersondown the line a little for the Jets. On the other hand there are some leaps we are making as that LHD list has not yet arrived and has proven nothing (Morrissey excluded) beyond being deserving of more opportunity at the next level. It would be very unusual for all the prospects to become what we believe they are capable of - it is more likely that about 1/2 will hit their ceiling below where they are projected.
You are still right about adding another prospect to the deepest part of our prospect pool. I respectfully withdraw my submission and will look for a new horse to bet on.

I get that, I think Heinola is absolutely top 4 but I see your point on the others. but even with morrisey and Heinola do we need to use our 10th OA on another one. is all im saying |

Gawanke is a righty.
Other than that, I agree that Sanderson would be a mistake if you’re just picking him because big and defence.
We have already on the left:
-Morrissey
-Heinola
-Samberg
-Chisholm
-Niku technically |

surprised to hear you are such a fan of Stanley you'd turn down a 2nd rounder for him. |

sorry you are right about Gawanke, cap friendly lists him as a Left D but I see now he shoots right, they have Chisholm opposite as well |

I think we can get lots more for Laine. If we do a trade with New Jersey, the conversation should begin with Hischer.
I have a good feeling about Stanley. I give him a pass for last year. He has the potential to be just as effective as Lowry. |

Ideal trade for Laine.
To NJ: Patrik Laine
To WPG: Nico Hischer, 20 OA, PK Subban (just because I love him) |
