Ben Shelley: Recapping all of San Jose's picks in the 2020 NHL Draft

When you read the scouting reports on all these kids it's easy to feel good about the draft given the Sharks position.

The Athletic gave the Sharks a B- which seems about right. Seems like their first few picks were pretty good, but they (DW Jr and Co.) will ultimately be judged by who they didn't pick ultimately. Gunler, Peterka, Mysak, etc...

I thought it was interesting too that they picked nothing but forwards - but it kind of makes sens looking at their current state/recent draft history.

Ben - do you think the Sharks will (or even should) make a pitch for the likes of Duclair, Athanasiou or Turris?

Sharks seem set in net....hmmm, feels like I'm abusing the word "set" there....more like Wilson has placed his bet in net (both rhymes were completely unintentional)

Forward lines though there's a lot of big question marks.

Even though Dubnyk came at half price, he and Donato still make up over $4M extra against the cap, so I think any of those three forwards would probably be priced out of San Jose's range, unless a move is made to clear space. I'd like the Sharks to go after them for sure, I just don't know that I can see them getting the money to work.
