Donato is listed as a centre - suspect the Sharks will try him there. |

Possible, he also didn't spend a ton of time at center last year though. I also think he's the only player brought in during the offseason that could be somewhat impactful as a top-six winger. |

Patty used to be a center for the sharks on and off. With the way things are looking I wouldn't be surprised if he is slotted as a 3rd/4th center. |

Very true - though you might look to run Marleau up there. Not a Sharks fan, but it's amazing how many AHL players got a 3-5 game trial last season. Not one was exemplary on the Barracuda, and all performed poorly in the NHL. It's bad enough that I'd give Wiesblatt a shot out of camp, if only because how on earth could he be worse than any of the bottom 6 already there? Your alternative is to try and land forwards on 1 year, 1 way 700K deals - you can afford 3 players that way with the cap, but they'd need to be reclamation projects - Grabner, Frolik, Caggiula types, and for the C maybe Devin Shore come to mind as previously overpaid, young enough to take a 1 year flyer and land a better contract afterwards types.
But in short, this team desperately needs forward depth - if Dubnyk doesn't return to form, I suspect it's another basement year. Karlsson will be the last 11+M D man in a long, long while. |

You own your first this year so lets be honest you are better off playing kids at league minimum contracts and getting in the lottery. |

I expect the bottom lines (especially the 3rd) to be an ongoing experiment in line juggling.
Won't matter much unless one of Jones/Dubnyk can remember how to stop a puck. |

Why get in the Lottery, The Tanman(DW) will trade it away . |

Not likely.
I think if the Sharks are nearing the trade deadline and it looks like a lottery pick, DW will do anything but trade the pick. BUT...if the Sharks are looking like a lock for the playoffs (whether they're considered a "cup contender" or not), there's a decent chance he trades the pick. |

And a goalie.
Cause the ones you got...
Yeah they seriously blow! |

Nobody has cap space to make a move on Granlund, Haula or Soderberg or else they would already be signed. This is the squeeze we knew was coming, sooner or later they either sign cheaper one-year 2M deals or they go play in Europe. My guess it'll be Soderberg for the sharks. |

We all know where this years pick went & the huge contract Wilson gave to Karlson |

Was the 2021 first round pick included in the Karlsson trade??? I thought it was the 2020 1st rounder and a 2021 2nd round pick.
This from Bleacher Report:
San Jose confirmed it sent forwards Chris Tierney, Rudolfs Balcers and Josh Norris and defenseman Dylan DeMelo to the Senators, along with a conditional 2019 second-round draft pick and a conditional 2020 first-round selection.
If the Sharks re-sign Karlsson, the Senators will also receive a 2021 second-round pick. San Jose acquired forward prospect Francis Perron as part of the deal as well.
