Maybe a High Pay one year deal to wait out the flat cap and see where the market is I don't think the players are eager to lock up 7 year contracts under a flat cap with limited funds, all contracts are lower right now than anyone expected pre-covid Maybe DH gets a deal like Buffalo gave Taylor Hall |

tough to see the cap moving up beyond the next season that will likely be shortened and with limited seating capacity in arenas (if any). I would think Dougie would want to take an 8 year deal from the only team that can give it to him. I'm sure Svech is going to get a heft raise next off season too though. |

Players are in a tough negotiating spot right now due to COVID. Maybe a reasonable one year deal works here to give the Canes some room and see where the cap ends up. Most good teams are going to be up against the cap until it moves. For the same reason, I certainly see them doing a 2 year bridge deal on Svetch and he will really get paid after that. |
