Matt Ross: Reverse Retro Jersey: The Leaping Cat Returns

“Obviously, right off the bat, seeing the original leaping cat back on a sweater is an automatic win for me. I was a little nervous they were going to do the updated version, but pleasantly surprised they didn’t.”
I really thought they would use the updated version, I’m happy to see they didn’t. My hope that they’d use the logo with the broken stick was pushing it, I guess.
The white stripes seem a little too wide, at first impression, but don’t look bad. The new shade of gold looks a lot better next to the navy blue than the old shade did.

It’s nice to see the original logo again. Actually, it’s very very nice. Still think it should’ve been left as the logo.....and the stick/palm shoulder patch is the best.

The width of the white stripes threw me at first, too. But I really like how it looks the longer I see it.

The new logo is the owner’s baby, I’m afraid it’s here to stay.
Even if/when these jerseys outsell the current jersey, it will probably be taken as meaning the fans prefer the dark blue.

Sadly, I don’t think it will happen. I agree with Rats on this one...the new logo/look is a point of pride with the owners and I don’t think they have any plans to go back to the old one.

A Jersey i really liked and wanted but never found or maybe didnt look hard enough to find was the all black ones from the allstar game whichever year yandle was there. I thought thats one id like to have

It’s so hard to make a new logo that gets as much respect as the really old ones. And no offense but even harder for a team that has had limited success. The leaping cat did that and I miss it.

Honestly but a fan of the hockey stick and palm trees because ICE.... but I think Florida has the best look of the reverse retros.

But, that’s exactly what is so cool about the palm tree/stick patch. Hockey in a new world under the sun in the land of palm trees. The patch is classic, imo.
I miss the leaping cat, too. It’s a great logo.

The Devils “Christmas tree” jerseys (both home and away) are some of my all-time favorites. I’m digging their Reverse Retros and I absolutely loved the video they posted on their Instagram today with the caption:

“From within the deep green of the Pine Barrens rose a Devil.”

I love the old school Devils colors and wouldn't mind if they retired the black and red forever! Or at least, make red and black the 3rd jerseys

Matt, HB is becoming unreadable. I keep getting ads from the left side that take up 40-50% of the screen. I can't close them and the report to Google about blocking content just leaves a blank Google box over the same content.

Yeah, the original unis were the best. And yes, it sucks that we're stuck with the current ones. It's funny how the current ones are the owners baby, and they don't inspire at all.

I don't think most Devil fans want to go back to the Christmas Tree Jerseys for everyday use (although Crusher apparently does) but they are very popular. I think people like them more then the current Adidas Jersey but not more then the classic Red and Black Jersey; meaning the ones we won the cups with. I think many fans would like to see the red and green more often as the team only uses them once or twice a year. Usually St. Patrick's day.

There is some interest in a new blacker jersey, perhaps playing off the Newark Bulldogs Jerseys more. We've never had a legit 3rd Jersey.

Love the leaping Cat Logo but I haven't warmed up to the Palm Tree parts. You definitely get points for originality on that and if the local fans love it, that's all that matters.
