No love for Mr. Goodrow?
He wasn't flashy. He didn't score much.
But he did one thing really well - provide a defensively-responsible physical presence. He wasn't going to get pushed around and let his linemates get pushed around. In fact, that entire line was not afraid to fight or get rough. If Gourde started something he couldn't finish, he knew Goodrow had his back.
I gave Goodrow a B.
Had the Lightning lost the Cup, then it would be a D.
The Cup makes a lot of things better. In that context, Goodrow's line was dominating and he was a part of that. |

I would say the Coleman-Gourde-Goodrow line was the defacto second line for the team as the Killorn-Cirelli-Johnson struggled the most of any line in the post season in my opinion. Goodrow did everything he was suppose to do which was play hard, defend, be hard to play against and throw the body around. I think the added grit of Goodrow along with a couple other guys definitely opened the ice up for the Lightning's superstars to shine. |
