I’m hoping Brome. He’s good down low, and working with Larkin and Bertuzzi could help him find his spot. I wondered if they wouldn’t move Rasmussen up. He did well with Zadina and Ryan. Mantha and Ryan could click well

According to the Wings twitter Filppula and Namestnikov are actually switched. Which makes the second line better (been wanting to see what Namestnikov can do at center) but that third line is going to be painful to watch.

Filppula will likely play over 20 minutes tonight. As per usual Blashill's line blender will blow up in his face. The over/under on breakaways given up is 5.5.

My first period summary is up. Really happy for Namestnikov, Detroit looking better and more positive

First period -
Detroit’s first shot on goal at 11:37 is Namestnikov’s first as a Red Wing. Good dump in and retrieval with G. Smith exploding into the zone. Such a breath of fresh air. I’ve been tough on Smith at times, he and Hirose have both looked better tonight. Well done to that line. Killing the Dallas power play was a big shot in the arm leading up to that goal. Detroit found some momentum following, and had some good looks on the late power play. Larkin recognized quickly an unwise pass choice led to an interception and nearly a good short handed chance. Lessons still being learned, but the team seems more positive tonight.
