If the punch rumors are true, have to assume he was the one that threw it, which would hurt the chances of him getting claimed. No one needs a guy like that in a locker room. Guy either gets claimed or enjoys the next 2 years in the minors. Don’t see him back again. Thank god we have Fox.

Also that Stepan trade by Gorton is a huge stain on Gorton now. He got absolutely nothing in that trade.

And why did they extend him for 2 years if this was coming.

They just gave him 10 million over 2 years. One incident would cause this? I am not the biggest Tony guy but this just seems dumb. I don't get it

I just don't get why the Frank did the Rangers give him that contract if the offseason stuff was already pissing them off. Just walk away from him. If no one claims him now we will carry unnecessary dead cap space for TWO seasons

Obviosly, NYR would've tried to trade him, if they could, but there is something that's not allowing them to do so. IDK , but it might have something to do w/ legalities.? Who knows what happened in that locker room, and what was done. More will come out. Gorton isn't stupid. Gotta wait until more info comes out. I can see the boys coming together for next came. No question had this same discussion with some friends especially the center problem has been an issue for awhile.

Right now we don't know the story. If he went from 2 year deal to being waved something major happened. Maybe this was ongoing since he was scratched? Unfortunately the truth will never come out until someone inside the room writes a book Theo style. My assumption is that something just blew up in the room and he asked for a trade in after the first scratch so this was the icing on the cake.

But maybe they were hoping to get it under control and then this happened! He’s a cancer in the locker room no need to put up with it plenty of kids waiting for a chance.....next man up! One thing I’d like to know is who was involved and what happened but we’ll probably never know the whole truth.
