Bennys grit/skill would be the perfect fit in Toronto.
I just dont think the names thrown out by the Toronto media are any where close.
Dermott, Engevall, Sandin, Lilegren etc... its going to take more than that. |

Can you translate phases in to 'e' rating for us please? Is second phase like an e2? |

I dont think the leafs would deal Sandin.
But I think a Dermott, Engvall, Liljegren, Korshkov, or a non-ready NHL prospect and a draft pick should get it done. |

I don't think trading Dermott for Bennett makes any sense because Toronto wouldn't get any breathing room on their cap situation |

What phase is Gaudreau at? Or how about Nylander? What about that one game when Vince Dunn was scratched...was that a sign of talks going up to phase 2?
Any follow up from your Gibson source? |

LOL what a bunch of BS.
As if your “source” would be told by the Leafs that “the Flames and Leafs were entering a second phase of talks and are further along than any other team in those talks...”
Give it up, Ek - iknowbest

If I'm Flames it starts with Robertson and includes one of those other cats. Then you have a deal. |

Those in the know are aware talks between the Flames and Maple Leafs are unlikely as the Leafs have informed Calgary thar Kerfoot will need to be part of a potential trade package which would need to include a pick or two coming to Toronto. While the players are both 3C with Kerfoot being a statistically more robust player, it seems the Flames are not interested in taking on Kerfoot's salary.
It seems these are unlikely trade partners unless the Flames relent. With a likelyhood some other team may mistakenly see Bennett as more than a 25-30 point player, there will likely be better options for the Flames this summer. |

Why exactly? Bennett has produced very little at the NHL level to date. -58 and 129 points in 379 games isn't rocking anyone's world. Doesn't matter that he was drafted fourth overall - he simply hasn't lived up to expecation. Right now he's strictly a bottom six guy certainly not worth either Liljegren or Sandin, rather a couple of taxi squad candidates a 3rd or 4th and Calgary would need to eat salary.

I saw a Craigslist ad for a new bike. When I asked if it was still available the seller said someone was coming to look this afternoon, but if they don't buy it then I'm welcome to pick it up.
In my reply I said "I guess the other guy is in phase 2 but we're still phase 1" .
He then replied with...huh??
Obviously he isn't part of the buzz community. |

First off I'm shocked Sam Bennett Is getting more attention than he deserves, 2. I have seven teams on my list that can win the 2021 covid-19 tournament, Toronto Isn't on that list. |

Dude is a stud in playoffs. Clutch is in short supply in Toronto. Makes sense. Could see Bennett+2021 3rd/EDM to TOR for
Engvall (for his salary offset)+Liljegren+2022 2nd |

Here's the article...Chris Johnston just says one of the teams.
This is being quoted from a rumor site that is like this site....no true sources, just looking for traffic.
Don't think it's Chris Johnston's suggestion about the return for Bennett, just the site offering a return.... I think.
Anyway here it is.
According to Sportsnet's Chris Johnston the Toronto Maple Leafs are one of the teams that have contacted the Calgary Flames to check in on the availability of forward Sam Bennett.
As for the return for Bennett, the trade would likely involve defenseman Travis Dermott and forward Pierre Engvall. The Flames would also need to retain a small portion of Bennett's deal, which only has this season left at a $2.55 cap hit. |

Love these proposed deals. Sandin? Robertson? Lol
It’ll be garbage (ie Engvall or Dermott) for Bennett, who is basically a fourth liner |

And how many phases are there in a real trade talk . I think it may be like 10 ,or even more , so phase 2 is a huge thing i guess. |
