Colorado has a weakness in goal. Bernier would seem to be a good fit for them. They know him because he played there before. So I say Colorado should be interested. What's your problem?

I am not going to debate a walking encyclopedia over something that I did not mean. I simply stated that I was coming here to report this and you beat me to it. It is that simple, nothing else was meant to be implied.

Just a quick pop in. Bernier, as some of you have pointed out, is now Detroit’s hottest commodity. TB caught an unfortunate glimpse of what could happen if Vasilevsky gets hurt. Washington is also on the lookout. Colorado has been linked to Bernier. Boston is about the only Eastern contender who doesn’t need to look at the backup position. Boston has “let it be known” that they are looking at going for it this year. Glendening is the type of depth player that would appeal. If they had he and Bergeron, those are the top 2 faceoff winners in the league. For short handed situations in the playoffs, that would be a fantastic strength.

An odd duck popped up. Carolina looking at re acquiring Eric Staal, in part, due to the story line aspect. Would they want to look at Marc as well? Svechnikov’s value went up as well. All of a sudden there are about a half dozen teams that are looking at Detroit, including Canadian clubs. Exactly one month left to the trade deadline, and Canadian clubs will want to deal early. Getting interesting

Canadian clubs have to deal very soon because of quarantine issues with American teams. It may be more advantageous for them to trade with a Canadian club if possible. Like instead of Montreal trying to acquire Ekholm, why not try to acquire Vancouver's Nate Schmitt?? Maybe for Mete, a 2nd and a 3rd?

There’s a lot of that back and forth right now. For whatever reason, Canadian clubs aren’t dealing with each other a ton (divisional rivals this year may feed into that). The GMS are trying to get an amendment to the Quarantine. It looks like they’re finding some ways to shorten it. That tells me that multiple teams are really focused on dealing with US teams. Toronto keeps popping up as having interest in dealing with Detroit
