I would definitely choose Jake Allen in net unless offered a good incentive to choose someone else. The package would have to be even better for me to pass over both Cale Fleury and Allen. Even still, no way I'm picking Paul Byron; although he's still fast, he's getting long in the tooth. Would look at Victor Mete or Arturi Lehkonen instead. |

I don’t think the 2nd and 3rd is enough to avoid better talent AND take on a cap dump. Those kinda deals would be more a top prospect or a 1st. |

Weber's a good player, but are you really going to use a protection slot on a guy that is turning 36 this summer? I feel like his contract term is enough disincentive for Seattle. |

he would have to agree to lift his NMC.
and there's barely nothing left to pay on that contract, could be interesting. |

Allen, for sure. He's a starter but benefits from being in a goalie tandem as we have seen in Montreal and St Louis.
If looking at defense, hard not to pick up Edmundson. He's been lights out with Petry (what should be the first pairing). As much as plus/minus doesn't mean too much, a defensive defenseman on top of the league should raise an eyebrow or two. |

This may change by season's end, but as of now, Edmunson would be protected over Chiarot. Ed and Petry have been excellent together while Chiarot has underwhelmed. Ed also has looked just fine next to Weber since Chiarot broke his hand on someone's face. |

Evans over Lek?
Chiarot wont get protected.
The D that Bergy trades for will be the one protected. |

I'm fairly certain Weber doesn't have a NMC, or even a NTC. |

If the Habs finally decide to replace Bergevin and install a competent GM, I anticipate the Habs will expose Weber. While it may take a sweetener, the Kraken might be compelled to take him. Shedding Weber's bloated contract would be an effective first step toward a much needed, long delayed rebuild.
Unlike Price, there are no trade or movement restrictions in Weber's contract. If his contract had trade protection, like most players, Montreal would have been on his no-trade list, and his contract would not be the Hab's albatross. Ideally the Habs would shed both contracts, but they must dispose of the one they can move. |

zero trade protection and 6 years left, I'm exposing Weber, not that the other D options are worth protecting but if you can get out of the last 4 years of that deal, you do it!! |

While a lot of us would like them to expose Weber, we know it’s just not going to happen, Bergevin will never do that, not the way he talks about him, his leadership and yada yada yada.
Has for the trade proposal, you don’t start by offering the farm hence why i didnt offer a first.
Also, I sent Sean my picks more than a month ago, back then Chiarot was playing a lot better than he did before being injured. Right now, I’d probably protect Edmundson over him.
Up front, Evans also had a very good start to the season and to be fair, 2.4 M for Lehkonen as a 4th liner is steep...hence why I wouldn’t protect him. |

I would take Victor mete. a young hungry right d that's dying for chance to play. Or use the Vegas Playbook take a defenseman that you know you can flip |
