Tough loss, damn eloquent write up. Seasons, life, and taxes...all are sure-fire bets to challenge one's faith, and all are sure to end.

Time. The healer of wounds, the thief of hopes. Time. The deliverer of dreams. Time will deliver glory, if we agree to the terms of Time's contract. But we are human and wish to impose our will against Time. But, inevitably, Time will win.

Hockey is a game. For some, a religion. For Wings fans, it's the latter. Always will be. October of 2015, I lay in a hosptial bed, ICU, spetic. I listend to Wings games on my phone. They carried me then, I drew hope and energy from them. That hope and energy supplemented my internal drive to survive to walk my daughters down the aisle. We all have our methods of coping with the threat of losing precious time.

Hockey is a game. When you've faced death, multiple times, you realize what is important. Games provide distractions, supplement joy and hope, foster comraderie and fueds, give life a bit of spice.

Now, with all that drivel above, I ask you, Jeremy: How do you deal with the Wings situation? Simple (in my humble opinion), you use a game to lighten the load for others, share grief and joy, make people think...and forget, bring people together and show them respect, and how to respect others, and you use the game to show people that we have dignity, and deserve to be treated with that dignity and respect. And for that, I personally am thankful.

I deal with this team by my perspective: At least I get to walk my daughters down the aisle.

But is it too damn much to ask for a win or 2 between now and when I take those walks???? Sheesh.

Let's. Go. Red. Wings.

I know it'll come around again. I have faith....and life....and some time.

Sleep well, Wings fans. Our time will come.

Sometimes after Red Wings losses I like to play the intro of one of my favourite old TV shows. Until tomorrow I'll just keep moving on.

Ok, that was awesome. If a dog can’t cheer you up, you’re in trouble. I never saw that. Thanks G

Cope? I ended up changing the channel back and forth from the Hawks game to the Wings game. Gotta admit the Hawks and Canes had a good battle with the Hawks playing a good tight checking defensive game in the 3rd that won them the game. Can't say I will ever be a Hawks fan but they put on an impressive game. I still hope Nashville knocks them out of the play-offs, but what if they are tied at the deadline and BOTH become buyers? Ha ha

Now comes the wait for the news on where Gostisbehere will find where his new home is. After much debate in articles and comments sections, the consensous was that if Ghost-bear falls to the Wings, that they should claim him. Wings have 5 LD, with 4 on expiring contracts and the 5th, Danny Deke may very well be bought out this summer. Ghost can be the PP quarterback that Detroit is missing. The only fly in the ointment is the 2 years he has left on his deal. Wings do not have a LD in the system that can step in and be as effective as Ghost currently is.

Looking at Cap friendly, it may be that the Sens will claim Ghost and simply waive Coburn and sit him the rest of the season. They have the cap space and could just hold Ghost and flip him this summer for picks. They do not have the draft capital they had a year ago, so this could be just some shrewd asset management on their behalf.
Unless Stevie calls them and to pass by on this one so he gives them a favorable trade in the future......hmmmm

Yeah, the market is jammed up. No one wants to “help” Philly, and only a few teams have the space. Such a bizarre year

The Philadelphia Flyers and Detroit Red Wings have been in contact regarding a trade that would see goaltender Jonathan Bernier and defenseman Marc Staal heading to the Flyers in exchange for a package of prospects and picks heading back to the Red Wings.

Pierre LeBrun of TSN mentioned via Insider Trading on Tuesday night that the Flyers were having internal conversations regarding adding Bernier and the worry is what adding another goaltender would do to the confidence of young goalie Carter Hart, who continues to struggle and is currently benched.
Philadelphia waived Shayne Gostisbehere on Tuesday in a move that was supposedly made to free up some cap space for a bigger move. Some feel the 'bigger' move is this proposed deal with the Red Wings. Gostisbehere is expected to be claimed on Wednesday and we could see a move soon after.

However this may have been mucked up as Ghost is still a Flyer and Bernier is still on IR.

Deal makes sense but it's likely off now with Ghost being unclaimed.

Be nice if Hart came back in the deal. I am sure Blash and this current team could wreck his confidence just as well as AV could!

But he would have less pressure added here as he would not be expected to win every time with this team.

Would like to see Staal dealt, Ghost as a return would've filled a hole for a bit, biding time until we can stock the cupboard. This is such a crazy year, no one knows what's going to happen, but we know most teams don't have the cap space to do too many things to improve: Dane with the one who brought ya.

Really cutious to see what moves The Captain makes going forward.......

Maybe this deal is still on.....Ghost can now go to our Taxi squad and get some practice/cool-off time in. Bernier and Staal get moved to Philly(1/2 salary retained)....and maybe Ghost comes to us with some salary retained along with picks/prospects.... Looks like a Stevie move.

Where there's smoke there's usually fire. If Stevie retains on both Bernier and Staal then the picks coming back should be higher.

I just can't see the Flyers making any noise in the playoffs. That's if they even get there. But I said this back in 2010 too and they got to the SCF vs Chicago. Stevie will be quite active leading up to the deadline. Should be great. 👍

I still believe Hart can turn it around. Not this season. But I'd definitely buy low on him if I had that opportunity. Holland drafted Givani Smith 1 pick ahead of him.

I wish we had all this cap space when Chara was a UFA. Sens signed Wade Redden instead. Oops.

Another caveat is Z's LTIR contract. What if Stevie trades that for a couple of picks?
Or how about that he uses it by bringing back vets on expiring deals and uses it himself?? Yeah it is money out this year, but the Wings have that covered if it gives them a better shot at futures, and quickens the rebuild if used wisely! This could be a really good thing!

An example is that Tampa needs help at RD, and Z's contract might help them to acquire that! Z can retire on a Stanley Cup champ then! (maybe)
