Theo burning the midnight oil again.
Wonder who sits if Connolly and Stillman slot into the lineup? Hopefully Carpenter and Zadorov.
If Colliton goes with the 7D, 11F lineup to get Stillman in, yet another forward will have to sit to allow Connolly to play. |

Thank you, Theo.
Looking forward to see who slots in tonight. I hope they give the BlueJackets a good game.
Been liking seeing the forward group heading lower into the D-zone to help on breakouts. |

How does this help the Hawks get Wilson? |

First, the max you can retain on Zadorov is 50%, so that still puts his salary over minimum, and he doesn’t, shoot right handed. Soderberg for a seventh rounder is about the going rate this year.
Vegas can’t afford taking on $1 over minimum. They even had to play with only 18 skaters once because of cap issues. |

The 'hawks would have to get a NHL Vegas guy, and most of their NHlers are contributing so the Golden Knights won't get off those steeds.
And furthermore those Vegas players (that they possibly let go to balance the salary in this type deal[/I]) don't look like young up and comers (Kids like Cody Glass) are going nowhere...the return NHler has to had some Cap back to hawks...
and why J J Dugan as the return?, most curious about that part... |

The trade deadline looms so unfortunately IMHO Bowman and Colliton probably go with seven dmen and up front there might be one or two surprise press box.
I really like Soderberg veteran savvy and his game is a good fit in playoff action. I prefer Soderberg, Hinostroza then Connelly. Highmore and Carpenter sit. This means either six dmen or one more forward sits if there is seven dmen. Then maybe Kurashev sits?
On defense: initially Kalynuk might sit since they really want to get a look at Stillman. If each dman is here after the trade deadline, deHahn might get an occasional rest. Kalynuk has played well enough and his offensive contribution he might begin to show more of it. I could see another veteran sit even if a minor injury just to keep Stillman and Kalynuk in the lineup
By the time we play Nashville again, however, it is difficult to imagine both Stillman and Zadorov in the lineup same game. The decision might then be to go with the best 6/7. There could be a 7th dman not each game and Stillman/Kalynuk rotate depending on Colliton's strategy against each opponent/team.
It is not likely but possibly the best seven dmen to face a particular opponent includes both Zadorov and Stillman. If we loose to Dallas again, in the next match do we try to play rough and frustrate/get them out of sync? by putting Stillman and Zadorov on seperate pairs?
It is a consideration and it may be a critical point gained or lost due to the effectiveness of the newcomers as well as Zadorov and Stillman both slotted in |

This was my morning brain scan.
I started wondering about "Wilson". who dat?
The volleyball with Tom Hanks?
Behn Wilson who I mentions a few days ago?
Ex-hawk Tv announcer Smiling Joe Wilson?
TOM WILSON
(I am pretty sure he is close to an untouchable...I actually think no one impacts a game like he does.)

All was mentioned on prohockeyrumors site. They also mentioned Vegas moving Nosek to free up space so he could come back as well. |

Riley Nash was just traded for a seventh, that is about as compatible as you can get.

This goes out particularly to our friend Darth Kane, probably the biggest Cole Caulfield fan
Darth, the inevitable occurs next fall (although possible this NHL season playoffs) when both Tofoli and Caufield figure to be in the lineup
I wonder what your take on line combinations would be. And whether Drouin is in the mix or has been moved. Perhaps Kotkieniemi or Danault is moved but not Gallagher. Whom can work best with Tofoli and Caufield - that is the question to ponder |

Shouldn’t that be WHISPERING Joe Wilson?
I remember him mostly from announcing bowling from Faetz-Niesen bowling alleys in the 50s.

The deal only happened because Nash is injured and can be put on LTIR for the balance of the season and then comes off LTIR for the playoffs when the cap doesn't matter. His contract probably isn't insured and Columbus won't want to lay out any dough to pay an injured for the balance of the year. Leafs have loads of money and buy themselves some depth for a 7th. |

Maybe we should start a pool to see how many seconds it will take to give up a shortie. |

Hawks will probably get Sikura back in any trade with Vegas. |
