15 game goalless drought for JVR, geez. Any chance of Seattle taking him has probably gone out the door. Nothing like having $14M locked up in guys like Hayes and him. If the Roster was to stay somewhat similar next year we would have JVR Hayes G Jake Coots all making 7M plus, that’s just way too much money for not enough production and no real game changer. |

We need Vorachek selected by Kracken no matter what sweetener it takes. Also need to eat about 1m on ghosts contract and get that moved.
Then we talk to Jackets and Ducks about Dmen, |

We have to keep playing the kids and keep Jake & G on different lines.
Also Hagg has been good since his return from injury i see no reason to sit him at this point in the season unless it is for a rookie. We need size and some snarl on the back end and players that protect the younger ones getting there shot.
Would love to see Morin/Hagg experiment for a game and see where it goes.
Allison is a keeper, lookout top 6 someone is going to get bumped down.
Maybe a Bee/Coots/Allison line for a game. |

Carolina will match so why waste time on him, targets should be Seth Jones, Josh Manson type Dmen. Once the defense is set then we can worry about more scoring but my belief is once we get the defense cleaned up the scoring goes up as well.

I love the absolute certainty when people say "Just add this player and everything will be fine or better". Will it though? I mean once again ON PAPER, yes you betcha. Will it magically clean up all the other problems? It's not like people haven't been saying this exact thing for 10-15 years now.
Member when it was "Just need to get a good goalie" then the defense will be able to play without over compensating then that will lead to scoring. Or when it was "Just need to add a sniper and that will change everything". |

It’s extremely hard, if not impossible, to be competitive (Dave Scott) and build a winner through drafting (Hextall). At some point the organization is going to have to take a step back in order to take steps forward.
All the Stanley Cup winning teams of recent years have very high picks in their lineup who are major contributors to their success. Unfortunately we missed on our one second overall gift from the draft God’s.
Trying to be Cup competitive on a consistent basis without the luxury of a top three pick in the first round brings mediocrity unless you can pull a few gems out of the draft in later first round picks or in the first three rounds. Not an easy thing to do this day and age for every team to accomplish. |

Yea totally agree, basically spit in the face of G. We put our a playoff bubble team for the past 8 years. For what ? This crap is the outcome, thanks a lot Hexy |

He isn’t getting traded without us retaining significant money or us taking a contract back imo.
If the season ended today I think Seattle takes Lindblom |

Looking around, there really isn’t a contract comparable we could take. Zach Parise would be in the neighborhood but no thanks on the extra year |

Why wouldn’t Flyers protect him ?
I think it will be Hagg unless Fletch offers some incentive to take someone else. |

Well I guess that’s better then. Slim pickings for Seattle. I still believe we’ll have to take money back (or retain money) in any deal with Jake.
Based off those names I guess they take Ghost but I wouldn’t be shocked at all if they like Sandström |

absolutely not. I like both of them, but they need a better puck mover as a partner. As a PK pair, fine |

Looking at the game logs, the futility is unbelievable.
Van Riemsdyk 1 goal last 18 games
Hayes 0 goals last 10 games
Patrick 1 goal last 17 games
Laughton 0 points last 15 games
Farabee 1 goal last 13 games
Aube-Kubel 1 goal last 27 games
That is half the lineup. I mean this is insane. Laughton 15 games without a point and he gets a 5 year contract.
My favorite is this...... Flyers have gone 26 games without winning a game by more than one goal. |
