Karine Hains: A Much-Needed Boost The Canadiens finally managed to get the 2 points out of the Flames grasp but it wasn’t easy.

The question is how many points can they get for the remaining 3 games this week?

Great blog, Karine, keep em coming!
They played a decent game, but although I know we got Gustavsson for his PP help, I keep finding him in the middle of so many DEFENSIVE errors I'd rather be spend his time on the Taxi, and Romanov playing. Let Gus learn the system (or what pretends to be one..) and help us in the playoffs.
No complaints on Merrill yet. Makes solid plays. Not spectacular, but just dependable... Something our D Corps needs, badly.
Cole was good, love seeing him shoot the puck... Maybe he can remind KK and Suzuki how to...

Go Habs! The Optobus rolls home!

good blog as usual Karine

about Romanov, I agree it could hurt his confidence if he was benched for the remaining games of the season, but it would also be unfair since he's been playing very decently for the most part and doesn't deserve to be left out for a guy like Gustafson who is a defensive liability

Well Ducharme said: Gustafsson has to go through waivers...as if anyone would pick him up anyways...once everyone is healthy they’ll have one recall and need to chose between Romanov, Evans and Caufield...what a mess

Yeah Gustafsson is definitely a defensive liability and seeing him as the sole d on one of the pp waves is scary. Apparently he was on the ice for a lot of shorties with Chicago. Still can’t wrap my mind around that acquisition honestly

Sure, it's making the trip on a couple of spare tires, and some nice kid from the States gave us a boost ...but she's running, and she'll see us home safe!

what a mess indeed, not being able to make these minor changes and dress the roster they want to really sucks.

What are the odds of Drouin having a mononucleosis or something like that? Would be helpful (even though i feel bad for saying it)

brutal cap management. the trade for Gustafsson mainly. he counts againts the cap while you have Kulak and Romanov in the taxi.
getting Merril was okay, getting Gustafsson was stupid

Based on need/performance, it has to be Romanov.

Anything is possible. Having a bad wrist, and with all the sticks to the hands players take these days, he may well have serious damage that could limit his career. We've seen a taste of the potential... If he can get help, take the season, and come back strong, with our young, fast core? Could be exciting. Just not right now.

have you heard any details about what his issue could be..? I find it annoying they won't divulge anything other than it's not covid related

Merrill is a great pickup, if Gustafsson gets picked up on waivers our cap situation is resolved in terms of having Evans, Caufield and Romanov in the lineup ?
