As much as I would like it be someone else, it really is KK without any doubt. The kid started his scoring the 1sst game of the year in OT and continued the whole year without being stopped. He is unlike most goal scores who shy away from contact. He balances the lines and gives the Wild a scoring threat better than they have ever had. They have a real chance to advance and make a run this year! |

Yeah, gonna have to say Kaprizov. And I can see listing Talbot for what he has been doing over the past 3 1/2 weeks...minus a couple of bad outings. Brodin I am not so sure of. I know the Wild's defensive corp has kind of been put on a pedestal this year, but honestly, they didn't look that dominant as they have in past years. They're good, but not great. Start of the season they looked great, but they also appeared to be wearing down as the season got deeper.
Since I cannot include BG as an MVP, I would rank them as this...
1. Kaprizov
2. Eriksson-Ek
3. Hartman
We al know the reasons for KK. Eriksson-Ek seems to have finally turned the corner as a pro. He is basically the new Koivu, with the difference being he is more a shooter than a playmaker. And to me, Hartman should have some consideration for how valuable (ummm, part of mvp) he has been being able to play up and down the lineup. Think for a moment on how he could have basically been an afterthought as he was signed as a 4th liner. Evason took the reins off a bit and, not that Hartman is going to score 40 goals or 90 points, but he has moved the Wild a slight bit closer to having a #1 C. Hartman will never be that, but he accepted the role and isn't looking totally out of place. |
