Wait for a win to finally make an appearance... Who could've predicated that?
Everyone, so I shouldn't brag about that. Whoa though... I have noticed some of the Carolina players complain a little bit too much at everything that gets called, but a bunch of jerks? I haven't gotten that impression, but if you say so. Aside from the natural hostility that occurs when you've played each other five times in a row now. If you're not annoyed with each other by the middle of a series, you're doing the playoffs wrong. Carolina clearly has the advantage when the Preds are on the PP, you'd think they wouldn't mind.
So I'll agree not to crap on Duchene, at least until he commits 8 turnovers on Sunday. Nice moment for him to emerge from witness protection. Joey though, that was by far the best game I've seen him play in a while. And it was throughout the game rather than just one timely play, so I was far more impressed with him.
The Preds are gona have to stop putting the puck in their own net though. Carolina doesn't need any help scoring goals. Well, we can all feel good until Sunday. If reality comes crashing back down, so be it. Last night was fun, not great for my blood pressure, but still fun if that's the only one we get. |

Preds will get boat raced in game 5. I give them an A for effort, but that’s as far as it goes. - Polecat
Maybe so but still coming back here for another game. If they win it then all bets are off for a game seven. Sure would be fun to see a game seven even though it would be on the road. Who knows stranger things have happened. |

Not liking the Preds prospects for game five. The Canes are going to be angry and a little desperate, and I wouldn't be surprised if they throw an actual sink at Saros tonight. If the Preds had a bit more talent upfront I'd say they might have a chance to take advantage of some of the mistakes that are bound to happen when you play overly aggressive, but I'm not sure the Preds are up for it.
I'd love to be wrong though. Any pipedream of Hynes or Poile getting the boot were foiled the moment they turned the season around anyway. Management has always put Poile on a pedestal, and DP probably gives the longest leash for coaches in the league, so if nothing's going to change anyway what do they have to lose? Might as well root for the Preds to ruin everybody's playoff brackets. Not going to happen, but I also thought this series would be over by now. You have to give the Preds credit though. They're hanging in there and not rolling over against a team that's a lot more talented then they are. |

for real though, watching that Edmonton/Winnipeg series I honestly can't believe what was getting calls there. Plays that happen every shift in this series were instant penalties in that one. Wild. |

So after Hynes complained postgame last night, does that make him a whiner too? - BINGO!
Yes. But under Paul's loose definition, so is pretty much every coach in the NHL. I'm almost certain he harps on crap like this to avoid actually analyzing the game which he's proven he doesn't know how to do. Like his constant belly-aching about all the experts picking Carolina to win the series, because of course they did. Nobody in Nashville, other than Paul, thought the Preds had any chance in this series. I've been pleasantly surprised by how the Preds have managed to keep things as tight as they have despite the obvious talent gap.
Ironically, Paul's the first to whine and complain when he feels the Preds have been slighted in any way. That's what happens when your PA Announcer/Head Cheerleader doubles as your teams blogger. |

Elimination game coming up...
Any talk about firing Hynes is nonsense. The real discussion needs to be about firing (forced retirement) Poile. The guy has been great for the team without a doubt, but his time has passed. |

He's 71. Hopefully he just gets burnt out and retires, because I have no hopes he'll ever get fired. Ever since the run to the Finals, management and some of the fanbase, treat him as if he's omnipotent and can do no wrong. This is when I started to turn on him, because since 2017 it feels like he's more concerned with winning a cup to cement his own legacy, and doesn't care if he has leave scorched earth in Nashville to do it, and quite frankly FRANK him for it! How much goodwill can one person get for one finals appearance and a Presidents Trophy? How many bad free agent signings, draft picks does he have to whiff on, or trades that make no sense does he have to make for everyone to accept he's doing more harm to the team then good at this point? When EK tried to give him all the credit for the Preds turnaround this season, it made me want to puke.
He promised us a youth movement in the off-season. Instead he hires a couple of rent-a-players last minute, and puts a product on the ice that was easily one of the worst teams in the league. What other team in any other sport can you recall that had so many injuries, almost all at once, in the same season and actually benefit from it as much as the Preds did this year? But he traded Bonino and two draft picks for the renown goal scorer Luke Kunin, I hear EK say. Yeah, what a frickin' genius.
I just hope Poile doesn't ruin the Preds for years to come before we finally get him out of that seat. The Preds are in desperate need of at least a partial rebuild, but I don't trust Poile to helm that rebuild at all. I don't trust him to do anything anymore, other than overpaying for players more interested in being country music singers than they are playing hockey. |

Everything you said was implied in my post. I was too lazy to type it all out. Thanks, man! Still waiting for Paul’s game 5 recap, but not really.

It's all been on shaky ground since Mike Fisher retired.
