I would move Hronek in the right deal without hesitation. Bert it would have to be a really good deal. He seems like a heart and soul type player. |

I think you’re onto something. Both are very special players for Detroit. Bert is like emotional caffeine when he’s on the ice |

Don't see a deal to be made between the teams and the Wings aren't likely in a rush to add a costly RD like Barrie with Hronek and Seider in the system. Only notable player that makes much sense would be Larsson but he's already rumored to be close to re-signing. |

I’d take RNH on a 2 or 3 year deal. Probably not likely though. |

Probably a very fair assessment. Not really any perfect fits defensively. |

I’m right there. I think he could do a lot for Detroit up the middle. Would you throw Vrana/Zadina on his wings? |

Your blog the other day - Internal Struggle - thanks for bringing this up. I do agree with you here. Technology has been great for all of us BUT it has also isolated us for each other. I notice families at dinner using their phones rather than talking, kids on a bus doing the same. It seems that technology has distanced us rather than gotten us closer. What Wheeler said after the Jest won their 3 OT game is super - we were joking, eating bananas, having fun and keeping it light in the clubhouse because everyone knew the situation was a tense one to begin with. That is a LEADER talking and a coach that backs him up. We (DRW Fans) will get there. |

Yeah and full dream scenario is bring Tatar in on a 2 year deal to play with Bertuzzi and Larkin. Keep the young guys insulated in a 3rd line scoring role. |

Thanks so much for that. I remember Yzerman talking about card games during the playoffs going until 2 or 3 in the morning. When you spend that kind of time with people, just as yourself (not a superhero on ice etc) you become a family. I really appreciate the note, thank you again for dropping in with this |

Can you imagine Tats coming back? It would be like an old WWE show when Hogan or Warrior came back in. Absolutely love that dude, and i think the fans would go nuts to see him back. That would be a lot of fun |

What could we possibly want from the Oilers?
Both Barrie and RNH want a truckload of money for mediocre results. |

Depending on what Wings would have to give up I would add Bear on D. This is strictly because we are talking about an Oiler deal here. |

Would Kenny trade one of the 2 best centers in the game? I think he should. Sign RNH for $7.2 x 8,Trade Draisaitl and Neal and Bear to CBJ for Jones, Korpi, Laine and a 2nd.
Gonna be a fun summer! |

As for the Wings....I don't see it....Kenny isn't giving up high picks to take on salary, and Stevie is looking for young guns with up side.
Kenny will take the "safe" boring route of re-signing Barrie and RNH after the ex-draft, and looking to acquire a younger but proven goalie.
Stevie will be unpredictable but adding young players with much potential, drafting for filling the pipeline, and signing Bernier, Ryan and Glenny and maybe Merrill after the ex-draft.
However there is a potential for big trades before the Ex-draft for teams that wish to get something for the players they can not protect, and some at bargain prices!

What would a hypothetical McDavid trade even look like? Looking back at NHL blockbusters, other than Lindros, the returns seem to be fairly meh. |

Would he in the future request trade due to team not progressing? |

All I can say is with Washington and Edmonton going out in the first round, that could move us up in our 1st round pick from Wash and our 2nd round pick from EDM. It's the only reason I was rooting against both. |

I know it’s super unlikely but given barkov will be a 26 year old ufa next season that would be one of my only targets if I was Detroit. Not to many players I think are worth giving up picks and assets for in this league but he is one of them. |

And how. I had Florida and Minnesota articles written up and ready to go for today. Spencer Knight made quite an impression last night though. And Zack Parise, to his credit, had a special night as well.
Florida has some special players. If internet rumor mills are to believed (which, pick your poison there) Q may be headed to Seattle if they lose in the first round and ownership may be doing a lot of selling |

I hope q stays actually. That team has a bright future besides the bob contract... but if barkov decides he wants to leave I’d be more than happy. |

The reason for the “rumor” is that FLA is cash strapped. They’d let him walk as long as Seattle covered his full salary. They posted -29K in site revenue for last season and are in bad shape financially. If Seattle would pay his full salary (or more) Q could be off the books |
