Thanks Carol, what about the draft picks that the Canucks didn't use, are there any players they could have drafted who are playing in the playoffs...
just kidding, I really don't want to know the answer. |

I know the answer. - manvanfan
What about players they (Canucks) traded who were then later traded for other players who are still playing? Like for example, a 1st round pick was traded (plus more) for Miller. That pick was later traded for Coleman. If the Canucks had instead traded the pick for Coleman maybe they would be in the playoffs... |

Very well done Carol!
One wonders where the club would be if Benn, Schenn, Dowd(lol), McCann and Forsling were still here. Always wondered if McCann would have succeeded here.
Toffoli has proven to be pretty much invisible vs the Leafs no shock there.
Gudbranson pretty fortunate with the Nashville this and I did like Richardson as a Canuck. Bonino got alot of flack here for his skating but had a great shot and some good hockey sense...and now has a cup. Good times lol

Gudbranson was a big part of why those first two games in the NAS/CAR series were more lopsided than the others.
I doubt he'll see the ice again

Miller is quite a bit better than Coleman.
If Miller this season has a really good year and the Canucks are again mid table, I would have to say he has to be traded, which then the next season the Canucks could then use that 1st they get from his trade the same way that TB did and use it to get a player like Coleman to win the Stanley Cup. |

Not even a little bit.
Good guy, but the right side was too crowded with Faulk, Hamilton and Pesce.
If you gotta get rid of one of those guys, Faulk is the easy choice.
And Dominik Bokk looks like a pretty okay prospect to get back. |

he led the team in goals and points in the regular season. He is one of the main reasons they are in the playoffs lol. |

Honestly, I thought they could have got more.
I don't think I'd put him in the top 15 RHD in the league but a 25th pick, 5th and 7th round.
I feel like they should have asked for a 3rd or something. |

perhaps he's just not a playoff performer. it's good to find out. sort of like how mcjesus and drai got exposed. is what it is. |

they were both in that super small draft pick % of being bad playoff performers relative to their draft position. Just bad probability and odds on Edmonton's part. |

They wanted Edmundson to plug a hole at the time, I guess.
I dunno, I think they could have got more too but he was a pending UFA and his rep had taken a bit of a hit the past couple seasons. Either way i'm glad the Canes didn't give him that contract.

When they're the only guys you really have to worry about defending and the refs will let you mug them, it's pretty easy.

I know. in this thread, context only applies to some players and some teams.
and the funny thing is that all sides in this thread say the other is at fault for not providing context.

Better get something instead of nothing, then letting him go for free, that's for sure. |
