Vegas’ Ryan Reaves will have a hearing today for Roughing/ Unsportsmanlike Conduct on Colorado’s Ryan Graves.

So, $5000 fine? Attaboy Georgie! The penalty on the ice was for INTENT TO INJURE, by the way.

I thought that when Reaves was penalized that the referee did say "with intent to injure," but now it is not on the scoresheet. So did you hear that also or am I crazy?

I mean there is an angle of the video which shows that Reaves was using his knee to do some pretty reprehensible things, so I don't see how this can be a slap on the wrist situation. There has to be players in the union that feel like their safety on the ice isn't in the best interest of DOPS.

Reaves seems to be a beloved goon, I doubt they'll suspend him. CBC/Sportsnet in Canada adores the guy.

Well you may be right given that they seem to have rescinded the intent to injure part of the match penalty. He was suspended one game last post-season but apparently the rules for repeat offenses change with the wind. I'd like to see him miss time just for peace of mind that he isn't going to run someone else out of the lineup, and hopefully the Avs can pick up three more wins and move on before it happens.

Yeah, I agree that it's very random. I just think there's some bias involved, the guy is a likeable personality(apparently) off the ice, if he was a massive douche off the ice or just stoic/boring, I feel like he'd get less benefit of the doubt. That's just speculation on my part, I have zero evidence lol.

It was for sure called and put on the list of penalties he took, but then it "vanished"
