Take care, and thanks for all your posts! - HenryHockey
Thanks H2!
I’m hoping something budges this weekend for Detroit, but 5 weeks out from draft is still a lot of time to negotiate

I see the Yotes are shopping OEL again......I doubt he would go to the Wings and his salary is too much for the player (6 more years of $8.25M) and the flat cap. But was wondering what he would be worth to Wings fans if he would come here. And Stevie needs a LD badly...
I think giving the Yotes a 2nd and a 5th if they retain $1M. The Yotes need draft capital. Give them a 2nd with no salary retention....
I am also thinking a Franz for Henrique deal is possible, with the Ducks retaining some salary.
Just my thoughts
Thanks for the insight Jeremy. As a hockey dad, it's frustrating how $300 sticks magically become junk over the summer, and my kid would just have to have the new model a few months after his season ended. Strangely, the same thing happens to the latest baseball bats during the off season.
Manufacturers are very good at getting people to want what the pros use, but they aren't the same. Special Ops soldiers are always getting the latest gear, and civilian hunters and shooters are right behind them because that's what the pros use, but it's generally very customized for the pros and not exactly what civilians are getting, but they can charge a premium. I see it in guitar as well, you can buy a $3,000 guitar, but it's not the same guitar being played by the top signature players, which are completely custom made. Baseball, golf, lacrosse, etc., are the same thing. Even the shoes are custom made for top athletes. Then they wear them and their fans want the production models of what they wear.
It's brilliant marketing which allows them to charge premium pricing, and what's funny is, it mostly works on men.
