I don't see why the Oilers would trade a cost controlled high skill player who is still realizing his upside just yet. I think the Oilers have other tradeable assets worth exploring first.

I am not a big Yamamoto fan. His last great season was the annonomly unfortunately. Outside that one year he has a lot of trouble finishing.

However.

That one season showed a lot of promise. I would personally be tempted to gamble moving forward we see more of 19/20 Yama than 20/21.

In a bubble I sign Yamamoto for as long as possible at as low as possible. A Klefbom type contract. Probably can get him on a sweet sweet deal.

However.

If Nuge walks we will need a more tried and true top 6 option. If Nuge walks AND if we can target someone significantly better than Nuge was this year, I don't mind the idea of trading Yamamoto for a major add.

Don't trade Yamamoto, sign RNH and keep the DRY line together and either sign or trade for a LW to play with McDavid and Pulujarvi, also if they could sign a guy like Armia for the 3rd line that'd be great for the Oilers, cap space is limited though so don't know if that's all possible.

With the noise out of Arizona that Garland might be on the block due to financial limitations, I wonder if there's a deal to be made involving him and Yamamoto. Maybe a deal could get done while keeping Yamo, but how much can you surrender in size before it becomes an issue?

Nice. If I can suggest, Kettle River Brewery. Nice place to have a beer and the fries are amazing.

I’m all in for Garland, though I’d prefer to keep Yamamoto. Much rather dangle Broberg and/or picks.

The NHL is moving towards a more skill game where size matters not.

Would help if Kailer wasn’t completely smothered during the sweep. Still a solid blog. Yamamoto is going to have a good career.

For sure, overall his production took a hit this year. Long term I think the best spot for Yamamoto would be a third line forward that can feast on lesser completion. Different play style but similar to Andrew Copp in Winnipeg.

How about Yamamoto for Jarry? Jarry had a bad playoffs but he could rebound.

I wouldn't take Jarry if completely free.

What a waste of McDavid and Draisaitl to be stuck in Edmonton. Just keep bringing in 4th liners every year thinking they are going to lead them farther in the playoffs. Maybe they can bring back Sheahan to lead them to the Cup!
