Dykhuis > Sanheim.

Maroon would be the first to tell you the Flyers gave him a couple chances to straighten up and he didn't. As you said kudos to him for turning it around. He is another down to earth player who comes across as just your average guy if anyone has ever talked to him.

Good to see Maroon got his act together….some of these guys come in so early at a young age and maturity is a big issue and it can ruin a guys career. I see a kid like DeAngelo and wonder if the lights have finally come on. I also wonder if the Flyers are the team that will sit down with him and see if there’s a fit with some strings attached.

Unless it’s with the lightning I don’t see Maroon in the NHL next season

TB has only 2 players that they drafted in the first round since 2011 currently in their organization. Vasilevskiy and Cal Foote. Flyers currently have 13.

Two different ways to build a winner I guess.

Why’s that? He knows his role. I could see him going to a young team and filling that role. I thought Tampa’s 4th line pinned MTL in through out the series and he was part of that.

Well, Tampa is a winner, a 2 time champion in fact. However the Flyers ....

Maybe a bottom dweller but he can’t skate, he fits on the lightning but I would be pissed if we signed him, even for cheap.

Oh ok….just had my second shot last night….still a little foggy. What is the point of your comment, though ? Just that the Flyers have kept their first rounders in the last 10 years ? (Which was the plan from the previous regime)….obviously not for TB.

3 years ago the Bolts finished with 128 points, yet lost in the 1st round to Columbus. Many reactionaries called for the coach to be fired and/or major changes to the roster. Kudos to the cooler heads that prevailed to witness 2 straight Cups the next 2 years.

Tony D's issue lot diff than Maroons. Climate also different. There can def be a fit. Will corporate flyers want any "bad" publicity that comes with it?

There is no doubt some team gives him a shot. Maybe one that is not corporate owned.

Not sure what the point was, but Tampa as a blueprint is a very interesting one to examine. They have 2 top picks in Hedman and Stamkos, and another 1st round pick in Vasilevskiy, but the bulk of their team was built by finding elite players (Kucherov and Point) and very good players (Palat, Cernak and Cirelli) in the later rounds of the draft. They also made very smart trades, e.g. acquiring McDonagh and Sergachev. No magic here, just had very smart people who made the right decisions in building the team up piece by piece. Have the Flyers had equally smart people making the right decisions in building their current roster up?

It’s the NHL, there’s not going to be some big microscope shined on signing him. It will be over in a week.

I like DeAngelo as a good player that will probably sign for a bargain price. I don’t see the Flyers in that picture mainly because Comcast is a Woke corporation that will not choose to inherit any unnecessary controversy.

I think DeAngelo would be a good risk. Kind of like Del Zotto but with more skill. He may want to come home and they could get him relatively cheap.

Well they have employed a murderer and rapist. Give him a chance. Reward outweighs the risk.

I guess if you equate what he did with murdering and raping then I guess this discussion is gonna go nowhere.
