Something has to happen this week, Rosters freeze on the 17th when the draft protection lists are announced - TPC
That's what you think.
I'm all aboard the Eichel train now, just mentally preparing for the inevitable. |

I really hope not. On top of the injuries he seems like a whiny entitled punk. |

He is not the only one to try and get out a place he doesn't like. I hearken you back to Rick Nash |

I was having this discussion with a friend last night. Rick Nash is the direct comparison I made. Imagine getting Rick Nash when he was younger?
I know Eichel has the injury concern but getting in an elite 24 year old center might not be the worst thing.
The hardest part for me is the money. In a flat cap world I just don't see how it works. |

it's one of biggest reasons why Buffalo can't get "the equivalent of 4 first round picks"
I am still open to Eichel, but the trade has gotta be a relative bargain
my offer is still:
Buchnevich
Chytil
Lundkvist
15th overall
I know Sabres fans would laugh at it, but I dont see why it should be better than that |

In that equation, Strome is your 3c for a year? Kakko is your first line right winger and Kravtsov your second? |

Buchnevich likely heading out due to cap issues is what I am going to guess Jimmy is thinking.
It's a tough spot to be in. I think I'd rather send Strome but then it's: Eichel/Zibanejad and nobody else. Buchnevich is probably more attractive for an acquiring team than Strome too.
Maybe:
Kravtsov
Strome
Lundkvist

But is he a whiny, entitled punk who will help them dominate their division? Maybe yes, maybe no, but IF he's healthy I'd rather have him at a reasonable cost than not have him. That's a lot of ifs, but those are the questions Drury has to answer. Let's hope he gets them right. |

It's really on Buffalo, the more of the cap they eat the better the return will get |

Doesnt have to play out like that. You could play Strome as your 1RW and bounce Kakko/Krav between 2RW and 3RW. |

I don't think they want to eat any cap on this. |

Hopefully the draft doesn't fall like this in real life, at least for this Flyer fan.
That means Chicago or maybe Calgary take Wallstedt. Then the other team chooses to go off board or takes Lysell.
So the Flyers either take Lysell (I'm ok with) or take a big gamble on Cossa. So only real option if Lysell isn't available is to trade the pick for a roster player or trade down to select either Chibrikov or Morrow. |

It should be an interesting draft to watch unfold. Maybe some seriously good players going outside of the first round it appears. |

Strome is miscast as winger in my opinion. |
