The return can be a tube of sunscreen lotion for all l care, lol.
I didn’t think the Islanders could get rid of Ladd’s contract without giving up a 1st round pick.
Clearly l was wrong. |

We are definitely in a win now moment. We have traded a bunch of picks the last couple of years. Go get a big name! |

The return is probably "future considerations" or something but when do you ever see a trade that doesn't actually list the return like this one does haha.
I kind of hope the official NHL trade just says "Nothing" to NYI |

islanders traded a dead body, some how this isn't circumventing the cap? Welcome to the new NHL, AKA the old NBA. What a joke the salary cap has become. Guess the only team to get punished is the devils? |

I recall Vancouver getting punished for Luongo retiring early and eating a cap loss as well. |

Lou has opened up 14 mil in cap space. Not counting Johny Rockets 6 mil. Isles now have 20 mil in cap to sign their RFA and key UFA's.
Possible run at Gabriel Landeskog |

There have been many LTIR contracts traded over the years. Horton, Clarkson, Hossa and on and on. |

Exactly right.
And it’s not like moving Ladd cost the Islanders nothing. Two 2nds and 3rd is fairly significant draft capital. |

Uhm ... I think he was traded for nothing. In fact they had to pay the Coyotes to take him.

The New York Islanders paid a premium in order to open up some significant cap relief for themselves on Saturday afternoon, dealing forward, Andrew Ladd to the Arizona Coyotes along with a 2021 second-round pick, a conditional 2022 second-round pick, and a conditional 2023 third-round pick in exchange for no return. |

My bad. I’m still so giddy over the deal that I can’t post properly. |

Having that cap space and essentially being in the top four makes it a ufa spot. Team is very veteran now and should be interesting. Just need to add Lebron. |

Tampa's roster is about to be gutted. Isles will get Anders Lee back with basically the same team plus a few additions. I really like the Isles Cup chances next season. 👍 |
