Gonna be a fun filled day! All trades have stalled as the asks are way to much in this flat-cap virus rich era! Stevie is in good shape to get some deals!! |
|
|

# 6 - Edvinsson, Clarke, MacTavish, or Walstedt. Not necessarily in that order. Really gets after our gaping holes and are viable 3 year players (minus Wallstedt who could hit right around year 5.....about the time we're kicking ass in the SCPO!!!!)
#22 - Raty. Hand's down. Ceulmans, Buldoc, or Cossa if Raty's gone. Again, getting after gaping holes, but may need a bit more maturation. Raty seems to be a serious sleeper at #22, and I've watched some of his game tapes; kid's good.
Driving back to SC tonight, so may end up crashing whilst reading your blogs!!! |

So, The Captain started off the trades w/Leddy and closed them w/Ned???? Setting the standard, as usual
I'm not really surprised. Read that Jones stalled between the Hawks & Jackets....lots of stuff stuck in the bog of money and assets. Once the dam breaks, though, will be some pretty interesting moves, and I think some pretty surprising 3-team deals to handle the cap impacts. |

Farewell Petruzzelli.... don't let the door hit you in the a$$. Glad the ungrateful jerk is gone. See ya !
Great move by Stevie getting Alex Nedeljkovic from Carolina. This trade could have a huge impact on the future of this team... Hoping for the best.
Really hoping the Wings can get MacTavish in the draft... but he'll probably be gone. This team isn't going anywhere until they get some serious talent up the middle. They need centers badly. I'd be happy with Beniers too. |

Vancouver's putting up the #9 pick........
Buffalo's got Eichle, Reinhart, and Risto up for sale......
Could get interesting today!!! |

Unverified, just voices in the wind. Apparently no major talks with Yzerman and Bertuzzi’s camp. Apparently multiple teams are interested. I have to think that would be a first round pick type of deal if he was moved. Again, may be nothing. |

kinda concerning. not sure we could get a strong 1st for Bert after having had surgery, but the stuff he brings to the ice each night surely would attract a team that needs extra ummph to get over the hump. would love to get a 1st for him.... |

Great move yesterday by Yzerman. Really happy with it and I hope the kids really blossoms after showing how good he can be last year. On a side note - Holland signs a 40 year old Mike Smith last summer.....Yzerman goes and gets a Calder trophy finalist this summer. Not hating on Holland here....but it does show the difference in GM approaches that we have seen.
One last thing - I must have been under a rock...but BERGGREN crushed it last year in the SHL. Is he on the opening night roster in October or am I missing something? |

Add Vancouver to another team to watch today. They're actively shopping Schmidt & Holtby. They are willing to trade the 9th overall pick. They are in the market for a top-six winger, and top-four D. Lots of exploring.
Bert for #9oa???? Can get Wally or Cossa with that! Hear me Mikey Mc? |

Yeah, this one has lingered so long that it’s tough to see what it will take to pull it off. |

My wish list:
1. Hughes(he’ll be gone, though there’s still a small chance he falls)
2. Eklund
3. McTavish
4. Kent Johnson
5. Edvinsson |

Buffalo got a first and a second (and Hagg) for Ristolainen. That’s a good haul, can’t imagine what the price on Eichel is sitting at |

I love the list. Buffalo has taken a long look at Eklund, and still hasn’t even spoken to Power. Edvinsson is my favorite defenseman, but i can’t see him slipping to 6. And then there’s the “Yzerman” factor. He traveled the land, following a star, and found a chosen defenseman who no one else scouted. Bringing gifts and a throng of angels, the chosen one selected at number 6 is…..no idea. |

Listen, I'm good taking someone other than a G in with #6 (Edvinsson?!?!?). IF we get the 9th for Bert, I'd like to see either Walstedt or Cossa, then MacTavish or one fo the others I listed.
FLYERS GET RISTO for Robert Hagg, a first-round pick in this year’s draft (14th overall) and a second-round pick in 2023.

I was like you when I saw the rumors. Kid made a bad choice, in my mind. Detroit's a bit of an enigma; Sortied history, epic franchise, rebuilding team. I could've seen Petro being a #1 if the chips fell the right way. He was legit. Something had to have happened. He balked at the chance to be a #1 guy with a club that is turning the tide, is loaded with talent AND Cap space. He made a bad decision. So, again, what transpired that changed his mind? Did he feel like he was being leant upon by leadership? Was The Captain too blunt about his development? I dunno, but the kid made a very bad decision, in my opinion.

Agreed. Looking at his trade history sure sums it up. Philly just gave up the 13th overall pick + 2nd + 3rd pairing D for an 18 point defenseman who has never had a + through 8 full seasons. You guys go out and get Leddy, fresh off a 31 point season for the 52nd pick in the draft, and a potential starting goalie for a 3rd. What makes more sense to you?
Haha Stevie for the win. He should probably help old chuck fletcher out. I could only imagine Y's reaction to that deal. If you guys find yourselves on the outside of the playoff hunt, I am sure you can flip Leddy and recoup your 2nd. Very low risk trade that earns an A+ in my opinion. |
