Nice Read Hank!! I wouldn't mind seeing Samuelsson down in Rochester playing big minutes with Laaksonen. Could be brought up as a pair sometime this year. Or take over 3rd pair next year. |

Good guess, it would be smart to mirror last seasons approach with players like Matias. Let these NHL team fade into irrelevancy then bring the kids up and teach them. |

Pretty likely that's what happens. I have no problem with that unless Samuelsson (or Bryson for that matter) is clearly playing better than Hägg in the preseason.

totally...sounds like the sabres are planning on a terrible year while allowing the kids development at their proper levels...the latter is always a good take, imo, but not always easy to do |

i think he's leaning towards one more year of school...looks like they're building a championship-level team in ann arbor, which would make for a great send off...no need to rush the kid by putting him in a situation he may not be ready for |
