It's funny, I worked in a large condo long before Covid, with lots of students from China living in the building because of its location next to U of T. They would be wearing masks semi regularly, and I asked one I knew pretty well why one day. Turns out they went through SARS, and since then, whenever they weren't feeling great, they would mask up to keep from spreading gems to their friends and neighbors. Not because they had to. Simple. Courtesy. We can learn alot from that lesson.
