What is the going rate for a press box resident these days?
|
|
|
|
Probably cost $1M and may get a chance to play on the 3rd line if he can cut it.

And now what do you do with Uncle Leo & Johnston? I know Johnston can be stowed away and brought up for certain games. Also Zajac, if he indeed re-signs (or has already been re-signed)? Where does Wally play? I would assume the lines would be:
Lee-Barzy-Palms
Beau-Nelly-Bails
Parise-JGP-Wally
MM-CC-CC
Leo/Johnston/Zajac/Panik as spares. It also leaves Bellows/Koivula toiling in Bridge.
Hopefully Lou has a package put together to bring in the 2D that we need. |

I think you put Palieri on that 3rd line and Wahlstrom on first.. then both have good net front guy. |

If we can somehow get rid of Leo and Hickey and don't sign Zajak we could try to trade for a D=man still. If we have all those guys then we are standing pat.
I would be very happy have Panik, aho, and Ross the boss..as our healthy scratches. My fear with Zajak is if we sign him he is playing.. period. |

Leo will be on the first line of course. We made it further last season with him there. |

Isles are where old tired Devus go to finish making money...
Palmieri -Zajac -Parise -Greene - Schneider .
all did not fit in with NJD youth movement .
Palmieri still has value but thats it . Signing 30-35 yr olds to 5 year deals is just bad business in todays NHL . and what NJD in the predicament they are currently in. |

True we should fire Lou and hire someone like Fitzgerald. The success The Devils have had lately vs how Lou has screwed up The Isles reinforces this. |

Palmeri is not Lou's guy.
Palmeri was brought in by Shero. He was Shero's first move as our GM.
I am a die hard devils fan and I am confused by what I am reading on this blog. Did you not go to the eastern conference finals last year. I am pretty sure I was there in tampa and saw the islanders play? you were a goal away from the stanley cup finals without your captain suiting.
You have fans here wishing to trade place with the devils organization? We have made the playoffs once in the last 10 seasons. Watch what you wish for. I would do anything to trade places with you ungrateful fans.
I actually think the best move this organization ever made was brining in Barrie Trotz. That is a Lou move.
Lou builds franchises on puzzle pieces not the most talented hockey players. I watched us win 3 stanely cups with depth players. We were never the most talented team in the NHL, Just the best coached within our system. Lou is a system guy, and brings in the right personnel to fit that system.
Marty Owes his HOF career to LOU. Marty was not the best goaltender, but he was the perfect goaltender for the devils system.

If you are referring to my post then please note:
Lou has done a terrific job turning the Islanders whole organization around in an incredibly short time. He’s one of the best ever.
To your point though there are some Numb Nutz on here who shat on Lou the day he was hired and definitely hated most of his moves in the first summer here. That said with the results they have come to respect him as well. |

Cups aren’t won without players like Tonelli and it’s about time the HOF recognizes some of these guys. |

What the actual fvck are you talking about??? Apparently you don't recognize sarcasm. That's ok. Just go on back to your thread and we'll continue to talk amongst ourselves.
Just as an fyi, every one of us thinks Lou is doing a great job. He's taken talent that was already here, added a few pieces and gone to the conference finals 2 years in a row. Yeah, we're doing ok.

Lou is so quiet above his moves that he probably made a trade 4 months ago that we don't know about. |
