Why wait? Trade him now if you can get a good return. Is he gonna test the market or will the new team be able to extend him? The price drops if he’s a rental. That statement about him not knowing if the Sharks want him or if he wants to stay is pretty telling.

Sharks can't rid themselves of pretty-boy Kane, so anyone that can will be leaving. |

Think he's much more of a bad boy reputation than a pretty boy. |

Trade him for Kadri then Sharks can have two bad boys. Hertl would be a nice piece for Colorado |

Trade with Sens for L. Brown, Eric Brannstrom and future considerations (if he resigns with them). |

Can it be a package deal & send Doug Wilson with Hertl. It's time for the Sharks to get new blood in the front office |

Most teams rosters are set now. Can’t see a trade happening until mid-season at the earliest or most likely the TDL. |

That could be. But teams weak down the middle(the Habs,Wild,Bruins and Vegas) would probably like to do it sooner.

Trade talk is premature until the Kane situation is settled.... |

Kane was one of their most productive players last year and now they’re desperate to run him out of town. There are only a few teams in the NHL that have the kind of leadership to keep Kane in line. The two Joe’s managed it but Couture can’t do it.

Ben Shelley: Sharks and Tomas Hertl could be heading for a split - Ben.Shelley.
It's pretty disheartening to the Sharks fans that they are shopping Kane and Hertl both, yet didn't do a single thing to address their forwards this off-season. It's not that hard to recruit players to sunny San Jose. Impactful UFA's are all gone and now this? Guess the owners don't plan on selling too many tickets.
