I thought TG explained Podz benching reasonably well in the presser, but I’m not onboard with the logic. If you can’t trust a guy in your lineup starting in the 2nd period of game 2 of 82, what does that say? Particularly after he’s just scored his first NHL goal, and a nice one at that. To me it gives the wrong message and kills any excitement in the kid.

Thanks Carol, I haven’t minded Burroughs, seems like a good depth signing, and expectations should remain low so he will likely be a good story.

The #leafs don't have the cap space to call up a goaltender to take Petr Mrazek's spot behind Jack Campbell tonight. They will likely sign U of T goalie Alex Bishop to an amateur tryout to back up Campbell.

Agree, no point in dressing 12 forwards if you are really only going to play 8-10 of them. I’d rather that was MacEwan or Gadjovic playing 7 min so Podkolzin could aclimate to NA hockey better.

But, Green knows best, so it’s probably the right call.

Re: Podkolzin and TG. It's his second game in NA with language and systems learning for a rookie. Still has to earn that trust a little. Would wish TG would make a million different coaching decisions... but I understand it at game 2 on the road. Game 20, ya, it'll get pretty annoying if it keeps happening.
