Trade for someone who requires surgery to replace injured players... makes sense. |
|
|

As the Knights windows is beginning to close, most would agree they are in "WIN NOW" mode. This being said, Eichel may not the most logical target for Vegas considering his health status and questionable ability to play this season. More suitable options will become available. |

Sabres don’t want to retain salary and most teams are up against the cap. Nothing to see here.

We should all intently listen to Jackie Daytona providing insight. We wouldn't want to miss gems like this:
This is the attitude all players should have. Brady will certainly be gone within 4 years, so its best for the team and players to move on.
Unfortunately, Dorion does not share this view. I suspect Dorion will give Brady the deal he wants. Dorion has long known this impasse was unavoidable, and if the intent were to trade Brady, it would have been done in the off-season when potential suitors had available cap space. The Tkachuk's know this.
I anticipate a short term deal will be singed shortly, with a no-trade clause in place for the last year of the contract. This deal will handcuff the Sen's next GM, as Brady will hold all of the cards in his final season. - Jackie Daytona |

Eklund: Vegas Ups the Offer for Eichel as Knights Need Helps Soon. (E4) - Eklund
Stone isn’t long term he may be back as soon as Wednesdays game, and Pacioretty is considered week to week. There is still almost no way to make this trade work cap wise and your premise that they would replace injured players with a player needing surgery and long term recovery to replace them is simply ridiculous. |

Krebs or STFU. - DanielEtvs
You want Krebs. Fine. Take 2 seconds to look at the Knights cap space. They have a 20 man roster and no cap space. Krebs is not a roster player. So who on the Knights are the Sabres taking to clear 10 mill of space? And how many players would they have to take to make that space since all of the big contracts have NTC clauses. Then what happens when Eichel comes to the knights and goes to LTIR. Are they going to play with a 17-18 man roster?
It is almost impossible to make a trade between Vegas and the Sabres work. |

If Vegas wanted Eichel so bad then why did they blow their final $5m of cap space on Dadanov?
Many readers have asked to speculate on a plausible trade offer and none is ever provided. They have no cap space, a bunch of high priced guys on NTCs, but somehow they can make room for $10m Eichel??

So, what's the recovery on neck spinal surgery these days? Couple days? |
|
|
|
considering i had a c3-c5 fusion 18 months ago and i still feel it daily is probably not a good thing.
i know it's a millionaire and top of the line healthcare, but good luck to Eichel. I couldn't imagine having to turn my head fast or get rammed into the boards. this dude is an awkward hit away from retirement. |

Agree, at a minimum the proposed title is illogical.
E4? I would like to see proof of anE1 (anyone) with this inside info.
Vegas ownership is impatient after 2 games, 1 and 1, with the loss being a game where they lost players?
I enjoy this site for discussing possibilities in the chats, and getting league-wide opinions….not here for these fake rumors. |

without bringing this blog into discussion... How is Eichel "elite" as the supposed ask is for? Is he a very good player? Sure. Is he an "elite" forward? Questionable. is he an "elite" Center? probably not.
To me to be elite you have to be one of the best at your position. His position is as a Center. I would say he is not a top 5 center in the league currently nor do I see him there in the next 3 years. Is it possible he gets there? sure. Is he a top 15-20 forward? Possibly. But with his current injury... Nope.
Think about it for a minute... would you trade him right now for any of the top guys on each team.
Edmonton for McDavid or Draisatl? no. Vancouver for Petterson? Nope. Winnipeg for Scheiffle? Nope. Toronto for Matthews, Tavares, or Marner? Nope. Boston for Marchand or Pasternak? Nope. NYI for Barzal? Nope. Florida for Huberdeau or Barkov? Nope. Tampa for Point, Kucherov, or Stamkos? Nope. Carolina? Rangers?
Get the point yet? Eichel is not greatly coveted and not greatly needed especially with his hit. May not be a bad player, but comes with some question marks. And his past doesn't sell him as a HUGE piece.
Good luck Buffalo selling a .9ppg guy as a 1.2ppg guy and expecting the return a 1.5ppg guy should get. |

Probably the reason he doesn't want the fusion procedure, and the latest report is that the acquiring team will allow him to get the replacement instead. |
