What the last 2 games showed is what i have been saying for the last few years and what we all already know...this team is going nowhere until they get a top end center to either be 1a/1b with Larkin or push Larkin to be the #2. Veleno with time will probably make a pretty good 3C.

Wings are still in the same position they were last season with only 1 top 6 center. Yzerman tried with Suter but so far that has been a massive fail and he is worst than Filppula or Nielsen were. Ras doesn't have the skills/hands to be a top 6 or the brains. If Larkin gets injured long term this team will battle Arizona for the bottom.

I hear ya. And to think I am paying extra just to get ESPN+ to watch them this year. I must admit though, they have done better overall than I thought they would thus far.

Had to stop watching with about 5 minutes to go in game , Nice to see Dekeyser sitting he is awful. Whoever runs the penalty kill not sure if it’s Houda or blashill but whoever it is this has got to be the worst pk in the nhl. Will wings management hire competent coaches to coach.

It's not just the PK the defensive system is horrible too. I absolutely hate this 5 man collapsing to the front of the net system they play in the defensive zone. Having 6 guys trying to play goalie is a horrible way to defend.

Just look at how the Bruins played, as soon as a Wings defenseman got the puck the winger was on him right away forcing them to make quick plays and often mistakes while the Wings give their defense 5 seconds before a guy moves out to put pressure on him. This also makes the Wings late to get to pucks along the boards and if they get the puck they are all too close together that the opponents can put pressure on all of them with 1 or 2 players. This also limits their passing options to exit the zone which is why they are constantly flipping pucks to center ice or shooting it off the boards to waiting opponents who just skate/shoot it right back in.

With this system they spend way too much time defending or without the puck. Often by the time they get the puck they just dump it in and change giving up possession yet again and the new line has to start defending instead of going on offense. Whoever is in charge of their PK and defensive system needs to get canned asap.

Oof. Anxious to see if they bounce back next game, or if they fall back into these low scoring, losing games like last season. Being minus Larkin or Bertuzzi basically makes the team look lost. When that top line is in tact, they were producing, and it kept high energy in the games. That was missing tonight, to say the least. Vrana out also isn't giving us a clear look at the team right now regardless.

Not much positive to say, Raymond and Seider had points. Cossa has been great, Edvinsson is getting a lot of attention. It's looking like Yzerman has made some smart selections that seem to be developing well. The future is still pretty exciting, we got a taste of it I feel like. It's a long season, just gotta watch and see where it goes from here.

Raymond and Seider have 21 combined points now. That was all I walked away with. That and the assurance that my gag reflex is in perfect working order. Cossa is a beast right now. Edvinsson and Johansson both looking good. Soderblom leads Frolunda in goals. Some good stuff

Why watch this crap...seriously.. the team, for the most part, has zero give a f@/k5 and it shows...there is no system or plan or structure to speak of... teams are circling the Wings on their calenders because of the potential for a breakout night as Mr Bergeron had....I get the team is void of depth and talent is minimal but damn.... no point in talking for a lottery the Wings will never win under Bettman.... for the sake of not infecting the youth with this toxic environment FIRE THIS COACH YESTERDAY.....this is shameful and the incompetence of the coaching staff coupled with this roster is embarrassing to say the least.... and while I won't praise Bobby Ryan he surely must be thinking "Damn, I couldn't make this team...... what the actual hell"....

Someone let Yzerman know I’m still available to coach.

If they fire Blashill, they have zero chance at Shane Wright.

William Wallinder is second in points among junior defenders in the SHL behind only Simon Edvinsson.
He's also gaining in confidence from his coaches. His icetime the first half dozen games varied between 2½ minutes and 6 minutes a game. He now plays 15-17 minutes every game. Note also that he didn't play his natural position in yesterdays game, he was on the right side.

More good news for the future.
