Glad to see Suter step up and make a difference tonight. Getting that first goal was nice to see... especially since it was like 12 seconds into the game. I'm all for starting with the same line tomorrow against Vegas and seeing what happens. It would be interesting to see Larkin centering the 2nd line. Not sure how that would work out but might be worth a shot. I just want him back in the lineup ASAP. This team has gotta start finding a way to get the lead in a game... and then be able to keep it.
Wings might have a chance tomorrow as I've heard Vegas is pretty banged up right now.. but then again so was Montreal the first time the Wings got their butts served to them by the Habs. |

No... I don't think that will happen. But I'd be perfectly fine with trying it just for kicks. Before tonight they'd lost 4 in a row. Blashill is no Scotty Bowman at shuffling the lines... but sometimes it's okay to shake things up. |

It’s not the worst idea
Namestnikov - Larkin - Zadina
Fabbri - Veleno - Gagner
Rasmussen strapped to the rocket Dekeyser is being sent to the sun on. |

I love the idea of Larkin on the 2nd line. He can push the pace and bring confidence. Suter clicked with Bert and “Razor” (stilll not sure about that nickname). I think Larkin will could really click with Zadina |

I really like the back and forth. It still surprises me how Bert can get things done. He is one of Kenny’s best gifts to the rebuild. |

Well THAT was impressive!! I was flipping back n forth with the UofM game….Was convinced that the game was lost when BUF tallied 3. It ain’t over until Mo Sides sing!!!
So, can someone remind who the people were who said Raymond should start in GR?!?!? He was absolutely ON his game last night. His vision of the ice & his anticipation of where players will be is simply other-worldly. What a fantastic talent.
Mo was his usual self; played hard, good outlets, but when he jumped on the rush it was all over. This kid has it, all of it. He plays v the premier opponents and makes them adjust their plans.
This isn’t the be-all, for sure. But this team’s shown that they just don’t give up. That’s refreshing, something that’s been missing for a very long time. Well done, lads.
And, I’d not be disappointed to see Larkin move down the 2C; what’ve we got to lose? Not like we’re going to make the SCPO, so let the chemistry be nurtured and grow. Suter’s progressing very well, so let it ride!!! |

Interesting combos. Think Larkin could elevate Namestnikov’s game even more. He’s turned on this year; sits 3d in goals for the team, so they may have something brewing. Larkin & Zadina is a good combo for sure. Zadina needs a little kick in the drawers and who better than the C to jump-start? You may be onto something, Feds. I could see these lines progressing very well and separating from the steadily growing player pool.

Suter with a goal and and an assist already in the 1st period. Like the way this guy is starting to heat up. He threaded the needle on that shot over the goalie's shoulder. He's starting to prove it's way too early to write him off as a bust because of a slow start. Hopefully he can keep putting up points on a consistent basis. Hope the Wings can keep this lead. Special teams are looking good in the first period.
As we all expected... Larkin is between Bert and Raymond on the top line. Glad he's back in the lineup. |

I was one questioning Suter, I own it. I also admit, I didn’t know much about the kid either. Itis starting to seem like he needed time to adjust, and is becoming more noticeable. I hope it continues!
I never expected Blash to actually move Larkin off Bert/Raymond. Though I like the idea of Zadina getting moved, to maybe jump start him.
Nice goal by Namestnikov, from a bad angle. I own I was one down on him preseason, nice to see him contributing and proving me wrong.
DeKeyser
I don’t see me eating my words/opinions on him |
