I'm glad Larson took that leap of faith in putting Chinakhov and Sillinger on the same line, both seemed to have developed something in Traverse City , all Voracek has to do is distribute the puck around.

It has been an amazing start to the season.

Correct me if I am wrong, but it seems to me this is as easy a start as a team could get. Lots of days off, no back-to-backs against tough teams, haven't played top teams in the Metro on the road (unless one sees the NYR as a top team, and they were shelled).

I'm not convinced this is still anything but a lottery team yet, and definitely not a playoff team. But I am open to being convinced otherwise. It is great to see it sure isn't the EC version of Arizona, which is what I was afraid of.

I am also wondering when the new kids hit the wall. Is it after game 30 or 40, especially after covid and/or after the Olympics when the games start piling up and teams are fighting for the playoffs?

I'm overjoyed to see them doing well, yet I'm not convinced they are going to keep playing this way. I guess you just get on board the bandwagon and see where it takes us.

Wow, your sure a doom and gloom type of guy. It is entirely possible the kids hit the wall soon but let's stay positive and hope they don't.

Joe,

I understand your post, but please understand that I have been a CBJ fan since Day 1. This is year 21 of the franchise:

It's been in the playoffs five times counting the covid playoffs;

Won exactly one playoff series (two if you count the play-in win over Toronto in the bubble);

The other franchise that came in with the CBJ has had 11 playoff appearances;

Cannot keep players long-term or sign free agents;

Has developed one superstar player, that being Rick Nash;

Was projected this season to be at the bottom of the league, again;

and has the youngest roster in the NHL for like the 3rd or 4th year running, with nothing to show for it.

So, IMO, I am not being a pessimist, I'm being a realist and hoping I am wrong.
