I'm curious to know what the "improper behavior" was. Gotta be fairly serious if they put him on leave. Probably looking to get ahead and avoid any Chicago-style handling of whatever issue. |

Think you are right. Has to be fairly serious if preliminary they jump on it like this. I have a feeling after the Chicago incident there will be a few more popping up as things change. |

Why aren't fans in an uproar over this announcement? Bob Murray is a good man and his reputation is being tarnished by left wing lunatics who are dredging up stuff that happened decades ago. |

If he is indeed a good man he has nothing to worry about. |

Like the left wing mob hasn't cancelled perfectly kind and caring people. The left would find a way to cancel the pope and Mother Theresa if it fit their narrative. |

This whole situation is sketchy. This is the last year of Bob Murrys contract. Something must have set this off. Something he did recent. I wasn't in favor of resigning Bob. And I've always been a strong supporter of promoting someone from the inside. Either Martin Madden, or Dave Nonis. But all the sudden Jeff Solomon comes in. Half a season in and is declared interim GM.
Either Solomon is very lucky or he planned this. Seems like very good timing. Right when the Teams rebuild starts to pick up and things look good. If the team did well then Bob might have gotten a extension. Him and Dalllas Eakins. Now it's up in the air. 52 card pick up if you will. We'll see who comes out on top as the new GM.
But I personally hope it's not Solomon. First thing he's gonna do if hired is bring on a friend or 2. Then anyone who's a treat he'll put them in check. Creating a hole in the front office. I could see one or 2 people leaving.
And all this is normal. There's always a power struggle for the top. But this I ask to Ducks fans: Is this what we need right now. Right In middle of a rebuild, to have our front office blown up. To have outsider with no prior experience and has barely gotten on the job of assistant Gm given to him. How much longer are we gonna have to wait now for the rebuild to finish. Are we changing direction. Are we gonna draft different. Scraping the old plan and restarting a new one.
I always knew something was fishy with Solomon coming from the Kings. But now. We pick up the cards. |

Jeff Solomon would be a fantastic GM. However, just because he's been named interim GM during the investigation doesn't mean he's the long-term replacement. If Murray doesn't come back for whatever reason (fired, resigns, or contract expires), I trust there will be a normal GM search and hiring process, just like every other team goes through. |

Well. The Kings didn't rehire or promote him. That's pretty damming. But even if Solomon is good there's still gonna be a learning curve. I mean, They don't have college courses to be a GM. You just learn on the job. And why him as interim GM. Dave Nonis has prior experience and is the more logical guy. |

Not really. Solomon was a Lombardi guy. As were Mike Futa and Mike Stothers. All were highly respected and coveted by other organizations (there's a pretty funny Futa interview out there where he talks about how Lombardi used to hide phone calls to him from other clubs asking if they could discuss GM openings with him).
When Blake took over, he wanted to bring in his own staff. Yannetti took over for Futa, Wroblewski took over for Stothers, and Nelson Emerson and Jake Goldberg took over Solomon's duties. It's not unusual for new GMs to want to bring in their own guys that they know and trust to help them run the organization. I don't think this reflects poorly on those guys.
Solomon was closely involved in all of Lombardi's affairs. He's the one that negotiated new contracts with players. He's also a salary cap guru and knows all the legal ins-and-outs of the CBA. This isn't foreign territory for him. He's been doing the job, if not with the title, for the better part of a decade. |

Yeah. Well this story proves my point. I don't want this happening to the Ducks front office. We've been a Well run team in spite of Bob Murrys bad asset management. And there us no way that Solomon is gonna be able to run this team without bringing in a couple of guys he trusts. It'll go down like the Godfather when Vito dies. "All accounts settled" |

If Murray goes, whoever replaces him is going to bring in his own people, even if that person is promoted from within. Don't forget that Blake was Assistant General Manager under Lombardi for years before he became the GM. He still got rid of the Lombardi guys and hired his own.
Once Bob Murray is no longer the GM of the Ducks, expect a shakeup of the entire front office.

Not if Hire Martin Madden or Dave Nonis. They've been here about 6 or 7 years. They know everyone and the plan and all the personal. But don't get me wrong. I not pro Bob Murry. Or even pro Madden or Nonis. I'm pro whoever gets us back to the playoffs and makes us a contender again. And the best way to do that is to keep the band together. Minus the old lead singer. So it's Davis Lee Roth out (Bob). And hopefully we have a Sammy Hageer in the Organization to take over. |

step off the MAGA ledge, bud, the boogeyman left had nothing to do with this. Ducks ownership hired a lawfirm to do an independent investigation and Ducks ownership made the decision to put Murray on leave. Ducks statement:
“After internal review, we enlisted (law firm) Sheppard Mullin to perform an independent investigation. Upon recommendation from their initial findings, we have decided to place Bob on administrative leave pending final results” |

So, it doesn’t sound like this was decades ago at all. I have compassion for Bob Murray, alcoholism is a disease, hopefully he gets better with treatment. That doesn’t excuse his poopty drunk behaviour. This isn’t a left wing/right wing thing, it is simply an abusive drunk being held accountable for his actions at the workplace. |
