Good game for sure, I believe the best 60 minute effort I have seen in recent years. I figured it would be 3-0 at some point but I did not believe it would be in our favor. Here's hoping they can continue to build on this performance. |

Nice to get a W over the Edmonton PowerPlays!
Maybe a momentum game? Maybe? (Positive thoughts) |

When Detroit had the power play early on and Mo Seider had two really good keep ins, the fans were going nuts! I don’t remember that kind of response at the new facility. It was incredible. The energy boost that this year’s team has given the fans is so special and so needed. What a great effort |

It’s funny how this team came together in Buffalo. The road was hard. Larkin has been through something really rough (don’t know for sure). He pointed to the sky after he scored, so I wonder if the family suffered a loss. All of that together has a group of guys that are playing their hearts out for each other. It’s been too long since we’ve seen so much passion. This was a treat |

For sure. Still a ways away but there is hope down the road for sure. |

What a fun game to watch, i'm not convinced until they beat Montreal though.
Great effort all around, I did not expect to win this game. Namestnikov is a different player this season, had he played like this last season, he's likely a Kraken right now. Ned was excellent. Erne had himself a great game, even if he didn't get a point. Very happy with the start so far, still a ways to go, but they are playing confident, and Vrana isn't in the lineup. Keep it rolling Wings! |

I don’t think I’ve seen two periods so well executed by this team in several years. They were engaged and at one point outshooting Edmonton 26-13 in the second. The third was way too exciting for my ticker… - Jeremy Laura
Agreed! Now if they can improve it for a full 60 minutes
My ticker felt the same way when DeKeyser made a great defensive play :
I was shocked they killed off the penalties.
They still need mass improvement on face offs.
Each game we are seeing something or someone improve, a very welcome change from the past few years.
Still gladly eating my words on Namestnikov! What a different player he is showing us so far this season |

Big game out of the Wings for sure tonight. Oilers had their first real "play-down" to the opponent game this season, but that's not to take anything away from the Wings. They played a hell of a game and shut us down hard in the first and second. The talent is there. It's nice that it's starting to hit the surface.
The league is better with a competitive Red Wing team.
Get and stay in front of the Leafs. That's all I ask! |

PP and PK looked good. Who is actually working with the guys, AT or the main idiot. I put my money on AT. |

Who are those guys?
Wings came with a plan. |

Seider played 19 minutes of solid hockey this kid is going to be a big name in the NHL. |

I was floored that DET laid the wood to EDM like they did.
Mo Sides was completely on-point last night. He handled the Oil's top line like it was nothing.
Suter's finding his groove, Namestnikov is starting to show what he truly has in his tank.
Ned was AWESOME. His poke-check/save was unreal.
I was watching it with a friend who's a CAR fan and was raging that Ned was traded to us and now they have a more porous G tandem.
PP/PK was really strong as well.
It feels like the team's progress is coming in fits & spurts....that's concerning to me. I know we're not a SCPO contender, but there needs to be some sort of consistency that feels like it's missing. Might just be me, but I'm always open for discussion about it.
A win against EDM like last night sent shock-waves through the NHL (ok, maybe not shockwaves, but the NHL Tonight guys definitely took notice!!).
I like what I see in general. Now, if we could just figure out Les Habitants!!!! |

Thanks, Slappy. And WELCOME!!! I think I'm like most Wing's fans here when I say that last night I was feeling an epic thumping looming on the horizon. EDM is just too strong for what DET ices each night. THAT didn't last very long. Was good to see.....
Dude, McD is a BEAST. Plainly THE best right now, and a solid case for consideration for "Among the Best Ever" discussion. I love watching him play. Leon D is another monster under the bed. They're surprising the league and pundits everywhere who felt that EDM was riding the struggle-bus this year. Like you, I feel the league is better when EDM is hitting their stride. McD, Leon D, Hyman.....you guys are STACKED. Wish you guys the best of luck this year. Hope that Kenny doesn't revert back to his final few years in DET where he spent like a drunken sailor on pay-day.

As I watched the entire game last night one thing was worth noting. I'm seeing how good defensively Suter is. Very good two-way player and he's responsible in his own end. He was shadowing McDavid for parts of the game and keeping him covered... and you could see the frustration showing a couple of times. I'd say anytime you can play Edmonton and keep both McDavid and Draisaitl to one point you're having a pretty good night.
Gotta love the way Namestikov is playing right now. I didn't see this type of offensive skill coming. Good grief... that first goal was a goal-scorer's goal.. looked like he was possessed and turned into Sergei Fedorov for that shift. This goalie tandem seems to be working out well too... Nedeljkovic was rock solid. We'll see how the Wings look against the Caps tomorrow night. |

I love where you’re at. Suter found his confidence in Buffalo and keeps stepping up. Namestikov had me doing a double take. He looks faster and so much more confident. All of a sudden it feels like 2nd and third line depth is breaking through. |

If I'm not mistaken... I think this is a contract year for Namestnikov. So his contract would be up at the end of this season. If he keeps playing like this he's going to force Stevie to consider offering him an extension of some sort. Time will tell.
