Still talking about this algorithm declaring trade winners. Does that algorithm take into context factors like cap space, injury history, whether players might sign extensions, team chemistry? Probably not. Glorified EA Sports program.

Well, the Sabres gained a to of cap space for the future, his injury history speaks for itself and team chemistry will be judged in time for Vegas, as he sure was not a good fit in BUF...Not saying there is a winner or loser here as needs to play out for a couple years now...

Funny Sabres got better getting rid of Eichel in some aspects.

That's my point. I don't need an algorithm that assigns a value score for every draft pick to tell me who wins a trade. Some basic analysis helps.

I don’t understand how anyone can blame this on the Pegula’s?

I mean at one point we had Eichel ROR Kane Reinhart McGinn etc on our team yet we finished dead last. There’s teams in the playoffs that have less fire power than that, think about it.

This whole thing is LaFontaine and Murray’s fault.

When the team perpetually fails across multiple coaches and front offices, who else do you blame?

Don Granato has been the greatest difference maker In Buffalo since Dominik Hasek.

If sabres weren't missing their 1c and 1lw and joker on d as well as starting goalie, I wonder how many of the games buffalo would have won. Especially the games the sabres were in the lead and threw away.

it always amazes me when players can't change numbers without buying out remaining jerseys that were printed, but trades come and go and no issue sending players out.

Hmmm I don’t think I’ve ever seen the owners suit up for Buffalo? Could be wrong though 🤷‍♂️

The blame lands on the players, management and coaches. I’d even say some blame does land on fans for cheering for losses for like 3-4 seasons straight.

And please for god sake don’t mention Kim Pegula being a president. She’s president of the business side not the hockey side

I've been told the Dom can still be in the NHL if he wanted. Even in his 50's he could put up big numbers. Bring the Dom back.

In response to squeakzor:

If they still had those 3 of whom I believe ur talking about, the team wouldn’t have been in a position to win and or protect a lead.

I for one am thoroughly enjoying hockey games played in a way that resembles pro hockey. Not a beer league team that relies on one or two players. That experiment failed and falls under the realm of insanity should one desire to repeat such a catastrophe.

Compared with...?

I'd like to know what other offers Adams received and when he received them. The when is probably more important than the what. The summer at or around the draft and free agency would have been the time that teams had more roster flexibility. If Adams got a better deal (measured by whatever metric, including this "algorithm") but declined it, then he misread the market. Understanding and appreciating the trade market is a key element of a successful GM.
