Pesce and TDA were just placed on COVID protocol today, Bear is already on it meaning for the next couple weeks, at a minimum, they have none of their top 6 RD. As for cap numbers Klingberg gets paid a tad over 4 mil/yr and the Canes have over 2mil in LTIR space to use. If Dallas retained enough salary the cap numbers would work without the Canes having to move any roster players. It’s not that weird they’d call around the league looking for a RD in the 4.1mil and under category. Klingberg is probably one of the better options in the league given the cap constraints.
I doubt Klingberg goes anywhere. Pavelski and his 7 mil come off the books this year and he likely retires or plays for peanuts. Klingberg gets a new contract. End of story.
