2nd line struggles are massively impacted by loss of Kreijci. He may not have been flashy but he could control the tempo of the game when he was out there.
And yes - break up the line.

Disagree with breaking up the line as long as Coyle is 2C. You accomplish little to nothing. |

They need to get a 2C for Debrusk. Whether that’s another reclamation project like Strome or maybe we could package him with Studnicka to get Hertl or Miller. They also need to give Steen a real opportunity, as he’s been a positive every time he’s dressed. Then they can get creative and try to find some balance. I’d love to see
Marchy Bergy Steen
Hall *Trade* Pasta
Haula Coyle Smith
Foligno Nosek Kuhlman
I could also see Foligno on the top line for certain situations |

Yeah i have liked Steen as well. He plays hard and can win a board battle.

I would be willing to give the split up a look. Would like to see studs get a longer stint between some solid wingers before he gets shipped off somewhere. Also, I am ok with foligno sitting in the press box for someone like Steen. Foligno was a poor choice, and I would much rather see the speed and gritty play of someone like Steen than watch foligno fail to keep up with the play.
Hall - bergy - Smith
Marchy - studs - pasta
Debrusk (for now) -haula - coyle
Steen - nosek - IDGAF |

So business as usual?
Can't do much worse at 5vs5 than they already are.
And it's not like the trio won't be together on the PP.

No, I'm not averse to moving Pasta down to the 2nd line as long as Coyle is not the center. Put Stud in there and let him play for a while and see what he can do. |

The bottom line is moving a different winger to the second line as long as Coyle is the 2C will accomplish nothing...you will still end up with three wingers "winging it" and nobody driving the play. |

They should be targeting a 2C with a DeBrusk trade but instead all you’re going to get is Evander Kane.
You keep the top line as is. Move Coyle down and try to get a guy like maybe Wennberg out of Seattle or take a shot at JT Miller out of Van. |

E. Kane would look better in Vegas. Why try to correct his bad behavior, when he can live in a city where he can lean into it. |

In that case maybe NJ is a better fit. |

Try anything.
I like Cassidy as a coach cause they are way more offensive than under Julien. He’s done some amazing things with this group. But it doesn’t seem like he can light a fire under players outside the top line. I wish he would experiment with the lines more... |

AAAAAAND just like that, Marchand is out for another couple weeks.
Not exactly how we wanted to see the top line split up
