Carol Schram: Canucks skate into holiday break, Zlodeyev gets an 'A' at World Juniors Bruce Boudreau put his team through two solid practices before the NHL's holiday shutdown came into effect on Wednesday. And with World Juniors just around the corner, Dmitry Zlodeyev, the Canucks' only prospect in the tournament this year, will be wearing an 'A' for Team Russia.

Thanks Carol.

I wasn't expecting to see any Canucks prospects in this tournament, especially with the amount of picks Benning throws away.
Hoping to see a Canada vs Russia final.

Go Canada Go.

Hopefully the next GM will actually value picks, especially given how valuable it is to have good ELC players with the covid cap

As I have stepped back from this site and not sure when the next post will be I will wish everyone a Merry Christmas now. Hope everyone has a good holiday season and nothing adverse happens to anyone...except the Leafs and Oilers lol.

Looking forward to the world juniors, the one held in Victoria was fantastic, too bad you can't make the one in Edmonton Northy.

Obviously the players had had enough of Travis Green and his BS and they were pissed at Jim Benning for his handling of the Markstrom, Tanev and Toffoli situations.

@Nucker

Drafting is such an important part of building a good team, no excuses for trading so many pucks, especially for a bottom-feeder team.
Since the 70's, a majority of the powerhouse teams were built through the draft, no reason to try change that proven formula now.

Michigan is good, but the real fab five were wayyyyy more dominant. I watched the Wolverines get worked by a few teams this year, there's talent there but they are by no means dominant. Looking forward to the WJC! Happy holidays, ya filthy animals and thanks for great work as usual Carol!

Bo, Miller and Hughes pretty much confirmed that it wasn't much fun going to the rink.
Looking forward to seeing the Canucks play, under the new regime.

Great share! NCAA is such a scam for student athletes, just boggles the mind how much they made off of all those guys many of whom never went on to make much of any.

Yeah it's a bummer but at least we don't have to worry nearly as much about getting sick/quarantining, etc. and we can just watch on tv with much cheaper beer at home.

Merry Christmas to you too

I used to be a fan of the NCAA, many years ago, but the bs they pulled off on Webber amongst many other things, turned me right off.
Talk about exploitation, they are the kings of it.

Ty Carol

Agree there it’s quite disgusting how some things work in the US.

Besides who cares about the 1431 bowls anyways.

The Dexter Manley situation was what really turned me away from the NCAA.
The guy graduates from University and still graduates, without being able to read or write, all because he was a darn good football player.
