I remember Brian Boucher predicting Seattle would make the playoffs at the beginning of the season. My skepticism was warranted. - backfire
Thing is, they weren’t blessed with as much talent of the hop as Vegas. I was still completely shocked they made the final year 1. Seattle just doesn’t have the squad.
Take the two points. What’s that 5 0 and 1 in last 6?

Wasn't Seattle also missing some top players on D? - hello it's me 2050
I believe so. At one point they were being outshot 20-6 for the game. I stopped looking but they didn't have a shot in the 2nd after almost 8 minutes in. They were losing every puck battle, every puck race, couldn't complete a pass or maintain possession for more than a few touches before Seattle had them pinned in their own zone for what seemed like shifts at a time.
I guess they came out better in the third but I couldn't stay awake any longer.
Caught the first period, seemed like the heavily being outplayed continued watching the 9 minute YouTube recap. Not for nothing, first time I am using the YouTube app. They snuck in like 4 ads during the freaking video. We already deal with them at the beginning, stopping the video and having more is a little over the top.

If you look for the sportsnet youtube highlights (still 9 minutes) there are no ads.
Didn't really see the game, but just watched the highlights. The Kracken's second goal was caused by Frost getting pushed off the puck like a little school girl. Another non physical forward added to the crop of wimpy wantons. Basically another game won by their goaltending. Stop me if you've heard this before. Hope everyone had a nice Holiday! Please stop ruining these threads with all your political BS!!! Thanks!!
If you watched the whole game you would have seen Flyers of all sizes losing puck battles all the way thru. To get a win after a long cross country flight and playing without their staring goalie, 1C and Laughton, was a very good result.

I didn't watch the game and it is a good result. However after looking at the highlights and looking at the game stats. Expecting a good result playing like that against quality teams is not realistic.

I missed it all but doesn’t sound like that’s a bad thing.
I’ll take a risk here by saying something positive but I’ve been very happy with Jones so far this year. I was very worried when we signed him but those worries seem to be unfounded. He’s very calm and efficient in his movements. I’ve liked what I’ve seen.
He’s prob gonna get the start again tonight I’d think vs SJ and he’ll prob be very motivated.
The Kings game and Anaheim should be a better barometer. They won't have the Seattle excuse of being rusty, or the San Jose excuse of being tired on a B2B.
Pending any schedule changes, the Flyers don't play a Canadian team until Feb 1st, and don't go to Canada till March 1st. So they should be good on the border front.

I think all of their D was back, maybe due to new guides on Covid

They played a poopty expansion team. That is not a good win imo. Just more fools gold for the GM to continue to have this organization to continue to be irrelevant.

Yeah. Sometimes you have to battle through. Most teams are in the same boat with players out.
I wonder if this will end up in another bubble hockey tournament with most teams making it at least to a qualifying round? Some teams are losing a lot of games and I guess you can make those up in the two week Olympic gap but who knows.

That’s good in a way as long as they win. The teams that are losing lots of games will end up playing like 25 games in March.
So looking forward t see the first trade the GM makes. Will tell what direction this team will take going forward. Excluding minor moves.

Watched the whole game and they didn't show up till the 3rd period. Some players had jump, Willman did for example, JVR was good. The rest of the 4th line was caved in. The rest of the lines had very little chemistry. The 3rd D pair was terrible, 2nd pair was decent, Provy was solid, Braun was solid for Braun but they can't keep playing him top pair. TK was engaged and stirring it up. Frost makes plays some can't but also struggled in battles. Breakouts did not happen. They did seem to click much better in the 3rd and OT. No, they cant play like this and beat even average teams.
They missed Laughton and Coots a ton. Thinking of it, Hayes did look a little better but still long way to go.
