Flyers got quite a few decent chances in close but couldn't bury anything.

York played pretty well, put everything on net as he should.

That's all I got for silver linings lol.

I got a weird one for a silver lining. Giroux tests positive and now he’s a better trade candidate moving forward. Assuming that testing is not as extensive for players that were positive and the likelihood of him getting it again anytime soon is none.

Good morning, what's on the breakfast menu?

York with 20 + minutes. Solid game. Then will be scratched as soon as Ivan is back.

Looks like I picked a good night to do the laundry and take down the Christmas tree instead of watching these sad sacks. Glad to hear that York played well!! Take Yandle out of the lineup FOREVER!! I don't give a phuck about his streak!! Thanks!

I thought it was a good game overall from two short-handed teams. The difference to me last night was 1. John Gibson had a really strong game and 2. what we see most of the time, when Anaheim had their chances they buried them and when the Flyers had their chances they didn't. Case in point, JVR had two incredible looks in the 2nd and could bury either chance, which would have changed the game completely. BTW, who on the Flyers can score a goal like Terry's 2nd goal of the game in the 1st period? That goal was a perfect example of what the Flyers have lacked for several years now, a player that can blow by every other player and score a highly skilled goal with speed.

York had yet another solid showing.
Hart looked okay all things considered.

That's all I have. Risto and Sanheim are a good 2nd pair. If they are your top pair you are in serious trouble. This team is in serious trouble. There is a very real need address the talent evaluation and development process. There needs to be a serious overhaul of the pro scouting/evaluation. This team is beyond a quick fix. This is beyond Ryan Ellis' injury. This is beyond COVID.

Flyers got hosed on the Konecny call in the end. Hampus is a big dude, I saw no dive or embellishment.

I thought Farabee was the best Flyer up front, making plays and dangerous all night.

We caught a break with Claude and Provorov riding the pine, and we needed it to stop the skid…

Gibson was nails last night also.

Yes York looks like he belonged last night, however he needs to add another 10 lbs. of beef before I think he will be ready to play a full NHL season.

York and Zamula both need to be inserted into the lineup. Both will add much needed skill. Both will give a much needed diff look than the slop the 3 stooges bring.

Now if the goal is to subtly tank than by all means keep the stooges in the lineup.

Just a bland vanilla team. X amount of years later and still no depth or no one to call up forward wise to eve get remotely excited. Seen enough of Brown and Zac, it is pathetic that internally you do not have better options.

This organization will never ever win with the way they run things and their archaic approach.

I didn't think the Risto/Sanheim pair had a good game overall. Sanheim got burned on the 2nd Terry goal, and Risto was not able to compensate. Then on the 3rd Anaheim goal on the PP, I thought Risto was too quick to take the forward in front of the net and instead if he had stayed where he was would have been able to intercept that pass to Milano. Risto had a great look in the 3rd but Gibson came up big with two great stops.

That play was far more about Sanheim fishing for the puck instead of taking the body. Terry skated by exactly one Flyer. Not exactly blowing by every other player.

You're complaining about the 4th line? With the Flyers full lineup, they would be playing with Laughton, Brassard or Allison, and then maybe would get some goals, but as 4th liners they provide what they should in the 9 minutes of playing time they get. The problem last night was once again, the Flyers' top players are NOT top players in this league.

ok, if you want to get technical sure, but the question remains, who on the Flyers can make the play Terry made on that 2nd goal? I say, no one!

So there's no Flyer that could skate through open ice with no back pressure in the neutral zone and cut past a defenseman who puts himself off balance reaching for the puck? I think you're reaching trying to make this into something more than it is.

LOL if the defenseman plays it the same way, almost all of them.

They provide nothing. They are not NHL players. Point is after all these years of drafting and many picks they have no one better. The 9 minutes they play taxes the other lines. Need more than 9 minutes. Just like you need more than 14 minutes from your 3rd pairing.

Why even mention Allison? He is like Snufflelofogus. Doe she even exist? Cant count on Glass Joe in any way.

Correct the Flyers top guys are not top guys in the league. Amazes some still believe they are.

Dont worry your GM will right this ship no doubt.

So you are saying that every team the Flyers play are defensively perfect and that is why we never see a Flyers player make a play like this? When is the last time we saw a Flyers player score a goal like this? Its very rare if at all, but if you can think of some over the past few years would love to hear about it.

Have the Flyers scored any breakaway goals this year? Do you think other teams are regularly scoring goals like that so that indicates that the Flyers don't have good players?

You're trying to make a really bad play by a defenseman on a one on one play into an indictment on the Flyers talent level.
