That was a awesome read! Thank you for sharing that! How many bets did Messier and Lemieux ever lose on a hockey rink? Probably only that one!

Here’s hoping the rabid fans in the QC get their franchise soon!

Good read Paul. I agree, Quebec can support, and deserves another shot at a franchise. With the way the game has grown it will be an excellent revenue addition and rivalry for the habs. I myself am looking forward to them mopping up the teeth and blood from rival games.

Good article, they deserve another shot. I grew up with Wally in Greenfield Park.

There's NO WAY Bettman locates an additional team in Canada while their public officials continue to treat its citizens as frightened sheep.

Way too much emotional bias in this. I’ll be clear I’m not totally against a relocation, but from an economic standpoint it makes no sense. Going to move a team that can’t put people in the seats because of how poorly it’s managed to a city where they legally can’t put people in the seats makes zero sense. That doesn’t even bring up tax differences between US and Canada, the strength of the Canadian dollar or just the pure number of potential people within a reasonable distance to attend games. If we’re talking previously failed cities KC and Houston make way more sense. That being said the league’s stand with AZ is obvious and Gary will continue protecting them to the point that I bet ownership wouldn’t be allowed to move if it was ever changed.

Moving a team to QC does nothing to increase the NHL fan base. Being in the US southeast, southwest and south does. The size of the PHX market is why the NHL needs to be there, the issue is the franchise has been badly mismanaged.

How about 2 expansion teams at the same time, QC and Houston? That works for everyone.
