Bill, was wondering something about Marchand's 6 game suspension. Does his forfeited salary count against the cap? If not, may it be enough to influence trades at the deadline, such as they may be able to afford someone they otherwise wouldn't?

2 and a half months left of going through the motions, but hey, at least we get to see Keith Yandle pretending to be an NHL player every night.
The whole “Yandle is a great guy” crap is such utter b.s. If he gave a damn about anything but his f’n streak, he’d show some actual class and retire immediately. He’s a total fraud, has no business playing in the NHL and worse he’s hogging a roster spot that should be York’s right now.
This team’s developmental philosophy is just criminal. York and for that matter, Frost and Zamula have no reason to be playing in the AHL right now. This is the PERFECT time to get all 3 valuable NHL minutes and all 3 should be playing in all situations. They will make mistakes, great, this is the time to make them and learn from them. But somehow, the clowns running this garbage dump, think it’s more beneficial to have them playing in LHV and getting the opportunity to watch AHL lifers play on the pp.
There is no defending any aspect of this organization, none, nada, nothing. Scott, Fletcher and Clarke all need to be sent packing!

The nose dive this organization took is simply incomprehensible. The way the brass approach this business, they will have no fans left by the end of the season. Things need to be done now before all of us reach the point of no return.

Opposing forwards must love to be on the ice against Yandle. Several times a game my jaw drops at his lack of defense. Him and Seeler out there together last night was a nightmare.
Honest question: why are Dave Scott and Chuck Fletcher still employed by the Flyers?
The team has been a perennial failure under Scott’s leadership and are only selling 13,000 seats per game (and many of those buyers are no shows). Fletcher after a good inaugural season has put together back to back epic failures and it’s not like he has a track record of building championship quality teams.
And, re the attendance, they can stick the bs Covid excuse right where the sun don’t shine. If Covid is the reason sales are down, then please explain why the Sixers are drawing much better in the same damn building.
My mistake I thought the power play was always playing with 4 players.
On our way to another losing streak, prediction 8 in a row this time.
No drive or care.
TK is worthless too.

Disagree with him hogging a roster spot. That is on flyers management not him.
This is just a complete schitt show from top to bottom. There is nothing to indicate it will get better any time soon.

No, it’s on him too. If he was such a classy guy, he’d stop embarrassing himself and retire. Of course, the garbage franchise is to blame as well, but some of this is on Yandle.
There is nothing to look forward to really. They have no star players. No potential star players in the system. No quality GM to help turn it around. No up and coming coach to give some semblance of better play. Upper management is delusional. Gritty is their best marketing tool.
They are the Oakland Raiders. 2 once proud winning franchises who just suck.

Nothing to do with class. Maybe he still thinks he can play. 100% on the coach and the GM.
It's ridiculous. There literally is zero reason to watch this team. The building was half empty last night too. Maybe that will send a message. - PLindbergh31
Bill (or whoever),
I don't normally pay too much attention to contracts for guys on the Phantoms. But it seems to me that the organization has an unusually high number of RFA after this season. Some of which are players that I was under the impression were expected to be a contributing part of the Flyers future. I understand that RFA negotiations for guys with little or no NHL experience are typically pretty straight forward & painless. But do you see the sheer volume of contracts that need to be done as a potential added issue for Chuck? Especially considering the major UFA decisions regarding G, Risto, and the majority of the current NHL defensemen? Is it this coming offseason that the 3-4 college prospects will be eligible for contract offers too? Are there any RFAs or UFAs that in your opinion will likely not be offered a new contract from the Flyers? Thanks

I don't anticipate any issues with the RFAs. Also, there will be contract slots freed up. I don't think Rubtsov will get a qualifying offer but, even if he does, won't necessarily be signed. Strome, since switching from wing to C, has found a regular role on the lower end of the Phantoms' lineup, but is iffy to doubtful for a QO. Not sure about plans for Sandin. There are also some pending UFAs on the Phantoms and Flyers that are doubtful to be re-signed. So the Flyers should be OK in terms of contract slots even with a couple guys on slides this year counting toward the limit next year.
